Hey everyone! I’ve got the basic ikea desk setup I really like and I work from home and game here, so I spend a lot of time at this desk.

Lately, I’ve been feeling the effects of too much sitting and I’m looking to convert my current setup into something that lets me stand part of the day—without having to replace the whole desk.

I’ve thought about standing desk converters, but I’d love to hear any creative (DIY or otherwise) suggestions. I’ll drop a pic of my setup below—what would you do to make this a sit/stand combo?

Appreciate any advice!

Flexispot or Autonomous motorized frame both of which are sub $400

Just get a motorized frame and set it up inside the 2 cabinets. Raise when you want and it won’t get in the way, if you get a good one it’ll handle the weight no problem.

  3. Deskhaus apex pro if you want a more stable, higher quality frame than the flexispot.

I don’t have any advice for a sit/stand desk conversion but I did want to say that I love the D.Va statue!

Just buy a standing desk frame. I would recommend a more expensive one that can carry more weight because your desk is quite big with some stuff on it. Put the desk frame beneath your existing table top.

I would also recommend a 3-monitor-mount. You will create a lot more free space.

And remove the damn “caution glass” sticker from your sidepanel 🙂
