I feel the same about horseshoe overlook in RDR2. We’re a gang hiding from the law with a price on our heads and our first camp is 5 seconds into a “forest” that’s like a couple of acres and 2 minutes from town.

Is the fortress actually supposed to be hidden? I mean even in the old days there was a road leading straight up to it from Bruma.
I thought it was supposed to be more that being high up in the mountains makes it easy to defend.

Yeah, I hate when video games demand so much suspension of disbelief. I get why it is particularly hard for this kind of media, but sometimes it’s like they don’t even try, and Bethesda and their worlds of “gimme exploring stimulus every minute” is probably the biggest offender.
