its an operating system (or rather an entire family of them) that, unlike Windows or IOS, is not owned by any one company
thats the whole point of being open source: basically anyone can come around and make their own Linux
which is also why there’s so many versions
all of this to say: there’s no such thing as a “Linux HQ”
