*Prices in Canadian Dollars bofore taxes.

**The discounted price of both Oblivion and Expedition 33 come from OFFICIAL PC key shops, so I thought it was a valid comparison.

This puts in perspective how out of touch Nintendo is when it comes to pricing their games.

Damn I forgot Expedition 33 was coming out. So many games to play but not enough time.

  2. LifeguardEuphoric286

    only 105?

    pretty good deal imo

    imma get all 3

  3. FrostyDynamic

And both are on Game Pass if you’re into that. I haven’t tried Game Pass yet, but two hits on the same day make it very tempting to subscribe for a few months.

  4. DapDaGenius

And both are in gamepass, so you could technically play and beat both in one month for $20. Realistically most people would have the time to do, tho(or maybe I’m just old).

  5. BleydXVI

I didn’t realize Canadian dollars made that much of a difference. 80 USD vs 110 CAD

  6. Southern_Ad4946

Mario kart will prolly sell more copies than both combined still

  7. Schwertbogen

And i can buy two or three VW Golf for the price of a Porsche. What is your point?

  8. Lady_White_Heart

    What site is this even?

    Looks like CDKeys?

  9. Obsessivegamer32

Oh boy, can’t wait to see this exact post reworded tomorrow.

  10. evmcdev

These two games only cost that much because they’re *discounted*.
The price before tax in actuality is $131.98

  11. Joshawott27

Yeah but neither of those have a cow on a bike. Think about it.

  12. EstatePinguino

It’s hard to take it seriously when you aren’t comparing RRP on both sides.

  13. WeekendInner4804

I didn’t know the official Canadian pricing for Switch 2 games had come out (it wasn’t available in the immediate aftermath of the announcement)

    $110 makes me sad

  14. Raaaaaaac

And people will still buy it so nothing is going to happen

  15. Mario Kart sells significantly below MSRP at various retailers. This is not an apples to apples comparison.

  16. ImmaculateWeiss

This is super disingenuous lmao the discounts are not permanent. I’m as mad at Nintendo as everyone but let’s not make it seem worse than it is

  17. mistercrinders

Remember when games cost $100 in the ’90s? That’s like $200 now. This is a deal.

  18. WispererYT

    1. dont buy mario kart. Buy the other games and dont complain

    2. not a valid comparison, take them at full price. While it is a small difference it would make this post seem far less biased

    3. what is expedition 33?

    4. Mario kart will sell more than those two games combined, for better or for worse

    5. lets not forget Bethesta started all this microtransaction bullshit. On top of this they are known for releasing unfinished, buggy messes. But yea brush all that under the rug

  19. thisguypercents

Well I dont have any friends, so the games on the left it is.

Also I cant use nudemods on Mario Kart.

  20. Dragon_yum

You can also get both on gamepass for only $15

  21. Electric-Mountain

And MK will outsell both of them combined. People need to understand Nintendo fanboys will literally buy whatever the company shits out, it doesn’t matter how much it costs or what the quality is.

  22. Scott9843

“Hey, it’s worth the price. Don’t like it? Stay on the original Switch with the rest of the Poors.”

    ~ Nintendo

*followed by the deafening sounds of the Nintendo Defense Force slow clapping*

  23. nohumanape

It’s a kind of tough comparison. One is a remake of an old game, one is the first game from a new studio, and one is the 10th(?) game in a franchise that has sold nearly 200 million units.

I’m not saying any one thing is right. But it’s a lot easier for publishers to approach with caution or approach with value in regards to the two RPG’s.

I’m currently playing around with Oblivion (on Game Pass), will check out COE33 (on Game Pass), and will play Mario Kart World when it releases.

  24. Karrigan7

the sad thing is nintendo will always get away with it because their rabid fans will keep bend over and buying their stuff

  25. AnubisIncGaming

And believe me, you’re getting WAYYY more game out of Oblivion

  26. Fitherwinkle

“You don’t understand, Mario Kart World will CLEARLY have more content than Oblivion!” he shrieked as he slinked back into the shadows clutching his Switch between his rotting fingers.

  27. SoRedditHasAnAppNow

Yes, but if you wait a year the two on the left will get a price break. Mario Kart won’t. So best to get that one now!

  28. DOOManiac

One is just a retread of the same game you’ve been playing for 20 years with better graphics. And the other is Oblivion.

(I kid, I’m looking forward to MKW too.)

  29. Euklidis

Yup and I bet Mario Kart will be making record sales basically confirming to Nintendo that habing that price was the right decision

  30. shingaladaz

Why is Nintendo charging so much for things?

  31. EitherRecognition242

I got both and getting Mario kart world. I dont have to choose

  32. WRONG! Depending on regional pricing, mario kart can cost up to **twice as much** of both games combined, and a little more.

In my country due to nintendo lack of regional pricing and extra taxes for a similar reason, its the equivalent of 78.65 USD vs 166.09 USD for example.

  33. Crocs_And_Stone

Just searched it up and the other game looks INSANE, probably thinking I’m gonna play it first before finishing Oblivion

  34. ubiquitous_delight

    lol. Pitiful console “gamers”

  35. lazzzym

Even less if you subscribe to Game Pass for the month to play them!

  36. Super_Illusion

The value of something is determined by what the market will pay for it. Majority of Switch 2 owners are going to buy Mario Kart, Nintendo knows this.

  37. JaxxisR

Counterpoint: These games are coming out on everything. Where else are you gonna play Mario Kart?

Nintendo has us by the balls and they know it.
