I may be lost to the world for the next few weeks.

Not likely because most of us aren’t standing in one spot for an infinite amount of time.

  2. Betty084brian

Yess, it’s lika da first time fun!

  3. Coreack_Cast

Is it similar to the feel of chewing 5 gum?

  4. P44rth00rn4x

This is exactly what the game looked like when it originally launched. At least, that’s how I remember it.

  5. Brinewielder

No unless you completely wipe your memory and have forgotten everything including residual moments where you remember things as you play it.

It’s like playing a classic after 10+ years of not playing the game.

  6. StudentNo5611

I need to play ittt fuccckkkkk, why do i still have a ps4

  7. exintel

We all waited so long for ES6 we just went back to ES4

  8. shinyRedButton

Its been so long since my last Oblivion play through that it truly feels like a new game. Thank you THC!

  9. AcetheGamer456

As someone that has never played Oblivion, I’m enjoying the start of the game a lot and look forward to playing it whenever I get the chance

  10. Hefty_Midnight_5804

I started crying when I jumped in honestly. I remember my grandfather buying me this game he’s been gone for 6 years, and it’s amazing to play a game for the first time.

  11. nickl104

I don’t like going back to games from my youth because they never look or feel how I remember. Recently, this and Silent Hill 2 were exactly how I remember them being (I know SH2 was a full remake)

  12. Shinjetsu01

If they release proper modding tools then this has the ability to last people a very long time.

  13. dnl12__

Ngl I thought this was Verdansk on wz for a minute

  14. strawbericoklat

My brother bought pirated copy of Oblivion disk and installed it on the family computer. I think it comes with mods installed because somehow when I launched the game, everyone was not wearing anything. It was an unforgettable experience for a 13 years old teenager with hormones.

  15. It’s amazing how lost I feel in a game that I played for hundreds of hours before skyrim came out

  16. mdhunter99

Mmm I remember those mountains well. It may have been 17 years (holy shit(yes I know it’s a 19 year old game)), but I remember shoving that banana haired prick down them.

  17. LateWeather1048

It stutters like shit and it runs ass on my pc when I’m walking between cities

But the fact im walking and not fast traveling should tell you something about how I still like it

The leveling change is different but not bad

  18. RGuillotine

Playing this made me realize that Skyrim is boring as hell and a bad game. They need a return to form an stop using the god awful Creation engine.

  19. I fondly remember Oblivion. At the time, it was a jaw dropping eye candy game that elevated gaming to the next gen. That moment when you step out from that initial cave and see the sky was amazing. Lost many hours in Oblivion with my girlfriend at the time. We took turns playing and had such a great time. For me Oblivion will always be superior to Skyrim.

  20. Rallye_Man340

I might have to pick this up to play for the 1st time

  21. NinaDollxo

There’s nothing like that first stroll out of the Imperial Sewers… hearing the music swell, realizing the world is yours to explore. Pure magic

  22. So how is it looking so far? Does it run smoothly on both console and PC? Does it have the game breaking bugs that FO76 was infamous for or the usual Bethesda kind that will make you smile?

I am eager to buy it, it’s going to be my first time playing Oblivion. I am just trying to understand whether to play it on PS5 on a big screen or on my gaming laptop with an RTX3060.

Also kind of hoping for a physical release.

  23. LiveStrong4Ever-

Never had the chance to play it when it first came out.. Very much looking forward to diving into it the way people speak of it

  24. canadagooses62

I’m doing exactly what I did my first time playing the game- running a Khajiit that will become Gray Fox at the very beginning, becoming the greatest thief of all time in the process and then requiring a lot of combat training to not die when fighting a mudcrab.

  25. Tubbathis

The moment you walk out of the sewers. That hit me in the feels. So many characters have walked out those gates.

  26. Blooplawless

Wish I could get on. My game keeps crashing. Looks awesome though, can’t wait to start playing myself. 🥲

  27. Jestersfriend

I’m so lucky that I never played Oblivion. I most certainly will be playing it this time around. I can’t wait until the first pajor patch is released, hoping it fixes some performance issues. Then I’ll jump right in.

  28. cammotoe

This was the first game I bought on the first video game system I had owned in years Xbox 360. Oblivion helped me get over a divorce

  29. Glad I spent most of my time when it first came out messing with mods, so there will be plenty to discover.  😎

  30. BadNo3598

I actually play this for the first time! I mean i played the original game back in the days but only a few. So i know very little about the game. The hype is real.

  31. ANoblePirate

I borrowed Oblivion on xbox from a close friend back in highschool, I was 17 (2007), and got to play it for a few days when my friend suddenly passed. I gave the game back to his little brother who knew should have it, having barely scratched the surface.

Looking forward to picking this up when it’s eventually on sale, finishing it and probably crying a bit.

  32. montybo2

Im playing for the first time for real.

Combat actually feels really good for an elder scrolls game.

I too am rocking a Khajiit.

  33. whereisyourwaifunow

are you the grand champion? i’m your biggest fan

  34. _-Shiro-

As someone that never played the original before, does the remaster still have all the jank Oblivion’s known for?

I want a half assed voiced goodbye from a guard as he gets launched into orbit

  35. JW162000

This release actually makes me so happy because I’ve always wanted to try Oblivion (as someone who’s only played Skyrim), and I’ve heard how beloved it is, but when I tried to go back to it I just couldn’t get over the clunky dated feeling and look to it (keep in mind I didn’t play it when it first released and am too young to have done that, so I didn’t have that nostalgia to overcome it).

So I’m really happy I can finally experience Oblivion

  36. TiffanyTease_xo

Man, it really does feel like magic when a game pulls you in like that again. That rare mix of wonder, curiosity, and total immersion, like you’re discovering gaming all over again. Cherish it, it doesn’t happen often..

  37. Darkstatic107

I’m still stuck in tutorial because every class option sounds so fun!

  38. irlDufflepud

I never played oblivion. This makes me excited to finally try it. Payday can’t come soon enough.

  39. StickStill9790

Time to go back to renting a room, jumping on a bed for 20 days to up my stats, then going outside and getting one-shotted.

  40. LiftedRetina

My only visual gripe so far is that the rain is pretty much invisible. Thunder is clapping overhead but all I get out of it is a splashing effect on the ground. It’s strange and disappointing.

  41. LeastInsaneKobold

Man they where already sorta fucked in the original but the fucked the cats and lizards up bad, ugly mfs

  42. NothingWrong1234

The soundtrack when wandering the woods set off a nostalgic flood of memories I wasn’t prepared for lol. It feels damn good especially with everything looking modern.. a whole new experience per se

  43. ResolveEmergency863

I can’t wait to play this.

I never could get into Skyrim, I’m not sure why,

but I’ve started, restarted and tried Oblivion 3 separate occasions, each time really enjoying it and not finishing it due thanks to something coming up, having a huge gap in play and then not having the motivation to dive back in and finish off because I didn’t know whereabouts I was

THIS time I’ll be more dedicated…. but with better graphics!

  44. Caziusthewolf

Such a brilliant remake! Childhood me is very happy!

  45. Lira_Iorin

So what’s the questing and npcs like? Same as last time but with new actors? Or did they rewrite stuff, and maybe add quests?
