Hey, got this work station PC for free a while ago.. used it for work and what not but was wondering if I can use it as a SteamOS (Bazzite) gaming console on a tv instead of pc gaming…. It’s a HP Z2 G9 SFF, Can it run any good games on a 1080 40” TV? Or should I just buy a second hand gaming pc or PS4-5? I wanna be able to play the games in my steam library, GTA 5, Red Dead 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Forza Horizon 5, Marvel Spider-Man Miles Morales, Resident Evil 3-2, The Elder Scrolls Sky Rim Special Edition, Terraria, CarX, Assetto Corsa Competizione, The Last of us Part I, Pay Day 2, Counter Strike 2, Ride 4, Half Life, NBA 2K24, Halo The Master Chief Collection, ARK, Border Lands
2, Every Battlefield and BlackOPS 6.
The TV is a 1080p Sony Bravia KDL40Z5500. Not the best I know but I just wanna use it for some light gaming after a relaxed day of work. If it’s not the best idea, what can I use it for?

Hello zalajr, and thank you for your submission to Gaming PC! If you are new please check out our rules over at the wiki [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/gamingpc/wiki/rules)!
We have recently added the useful feature of Title Flair! You can set this manually by clicking Flair under your post once you have submitted your post, but if you missed it in the rules there is a much better way that will automatically flair your post!

To do this simply add what your post is about in brackets before your title. For example for a Build Log you can type [Build Log] before your post so that it looks like this; [Build Log]My new awesome build!, and the bot will automatically set your flair to Build Log! This works for Build Log, Build Showcase, News, Hardware News, Hardware Release, Discussion, and Miscellaneous!

Also remember that this is a place for discussing and sharing our love of Gaming Computers! This is NOT the place for help building or determining what parts you should buy, that is better suited for /r/buildapc. Troubleshooting questions should be directed to /r/techsupport. Thank you again!

It’s not made for gaming more of a professional laptop really expensive but if you can sell it buy something with a rtx or rx
But if it’s your only choice yeah it will definitely run some great games

It should be fine for 1080p games just don’t expect to high of settings, and make sure drivers are up to date

I would say in performance your looking around like 2070, Mayne even 2060 area level of performance as a quick look the 3060 does beat it by a decent chunk

It’s a RTX 3060 12GB with a bit less cores and more than a bit less frequency. It’s still fine for gaming, just manage your expectations as it’s a slowed down version of a budget friendly GPU from 4 years ago.

Try playing some games to see but You could always swap the gpu that cpu has been great for me so far and it’s capable of 4800mhz ram if you don’t have that speed then upgrade that as well so it has potential for a few hundred bucks to be a good gaming pc

I think you’ll run into some problems, maybe compatibility issues, the only way to know is to try playing a few games (better try recent games)

Yes you can play almost any game on it
