One of the most interesting games to come out in years being totally overshadowed by oblivion, feels bad man.

Expedition 33 has more hype for me than a polished game I beat what 18 years ago.

They don’t target the same audience, what would concurrence expedition 33 is a new final fantasy game.

Honestly I more feel bad for the Skyblivion crew

It’s a turn based RPG, completely different genre. I was never interested in that in the first place. The people who care about Oblivion probably don’t care at all about that.

  5. Nah I’m still getting Expedition 33. I enjoy a good Elder Scrolls romp but I really like what I’ve seen of E33 and I’m willing to place my bets on it.

It was never gonna do that well anyway tbh. I don’t know of many people apart from FF purists that are seriously clamoring for new turn based rpgs in this day and age.

I didn’t even hear about that game before this post it looks awesome. Definitely putting that on the list.

  8. I bought both. Good week for French video game company tho.

I want both & I may be in the minority here, but expedition 33 has my attention first since it’s the closest thing we will get to Legend of the Dragoon 2.

I’m just playing Oblivion until I can play that.

This post is the first time I’ve even heard of Expedition 33.

I’m super hyped for Expedition 33 and I was pretty hyped for Oblivion when I heard that they’re gonna shadow drop it soon a couple days ago. I’m an old gamer who has been playing Elder Scrolls games since Morrowind back when it released.

That being said, I just tried the Oblivion remaster on Game Pass and realized that I can’t get into old school RPGs like this anymore. Gaming has come really far since then and I don’t think the gameplay aged well. I know that people might appreciate that it’s faithful to the original, but I would have hoped for some combat improvements at the very least. The combat is so basic and clunky that it might as well not exist. You could turn it into turn based combat with 2 buttons for blocking and attacking and I wouldn’t feel a difference, lol. It was so frustrating, I dropped it before I even made it out into the open world for the first time.

So yeah, what I’m trying to say is: Different audience. I’m not that big on nostalgia but craving something new and Expedition 33 is looking like it’s gonna be pretty rad.

Already Pre-ordered E33. Love what they’re doing and excited to play it.

Though might be playing ES4 Remastered first…

Isn’t that game just the 10000th game with the exact same jrpg combat system? I could hardly care less, that genre never evolved since the 80s

Nah, ill play claire. I played oblivion already.

I skipped Oblivion despite playing Morrowind and Skyrim like a mad man. Oblivion just came out when I was busy with some things in my career and it just dropped out of nowhere, so hyped.

What is expedition 33. Seriously never heard of it.

is funny reading that the audiences are different for each game. What are they talking about? They’re both games. Video game media will talk more about one than the other—that’s obvious.
