I had to look up what WMR is, that’s how irrelevant it is. Might as well complain about Windows 10 removing 8’s tile-focused UI.

If a game is so old it literally doesn’t work on a modern OS, it’s old enough to run in a VM.

  2. offlinesir

I do like windows 11 more than 10, and I do understand the love for windows 10 and 7, but it’s kinda time to move on. It’s a more modern UI, and while I HATE that you have to go into a billion settings and run a script or 2 to get the privacy settings you want, along with fixing the taskbar, it’s nicer.

also, security support, come on, move to 11 already. Before anyone says “Microsoft is shortening the lifespans of windows 10 PC’s!!!” they are, kinda, but they offered about 10 years of support 2015-2025, for free, and gave free upgrades from 7 to 10

    1. What’s WMR?

    2. What’s wrong with the audio settings?

Also regarding the right click menu there’s a settings that removes the new one and enables the legacy menu

  4. ketchup1345

Can’t say I’ve ever had a problem on windows 11. I had more on windows 10. Lmfao why is this even a discussion 💀 let’s bully MacOS instead.

  5. gafftaped

As someone who works in tech doing almost anything takes an additional 1-5 steps.

  6. Cube_FIN

I just prefer the way win10 looks over 11

  7. xSnowLeopardx

We’ll have the same goddamn topic with the next OS, when everyone settled down on 11. Boring and annoying.

  8. smack54az

Can I have win 7 ultimate back please?

  9. Gloomy_Ad5221

I used pretty much every windows since XP and I game a lot and tbf I did not notice any huge changes except 10 and 11 are bloated of useless app that I don’t use. Also Windows 10 broke the old games too , I remember a lot of old games that just won’t launch so I just really stop caring unless it ruins my PC.

  10. beardedgamerdad

I will concede the right click menu, which is slightly annoying. Everything else is irrelevant.
    WMR? The fuck is that?
Invasive AI? I have never seen anything remotely AI in Win11.

Like, are we even using the same system? I know it’s become a meme hating Windows 11, but it really isn’t bad as people make it out to be.

  11. Beneficial_Guest_810

I’ve tried various forms of Linux since I became interested in computers as a teen.

I have my 25th high school reunion coming up and I’m still in an off again/on again relationship with Windows.

Sorry Linux, I just can’t commit to you because you’re also a pain in the ass to deal with and sometimes I just don’t want to RTFM, I just want to come home and play video games.

  12. lars2k1

I don’t care about WMR itself, but the rest is pretty bad.

And don’t forget the shit implementation of taskbar button labels.

  13. _Tacoyaki_

Console commands to remove online searches in the start menu and to bring back the old right click are basically mandatory

  14. newaru2

It’s funny people are complaining about AI in W11 when I, with a W11 Pro version, don’t have any of this.

  15. International_Body44

Small taskbar buttons! Bring them the fuck back!

  16. MemesAt1am

Rip to the three wmr users
    I’m sure they’re very sad

  17. Merfium

What about the fact that there will shut loads more of e-waste created. Thousands upon thousands of computers can’t even run W11 due to [arbitrary restrictions](https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/windows-11-arbitrary-restrictions-and/2174af44-8c34-40da-b7e9-c49f03972e91). And the fact you have to do a bunch of shit to get around it makes it more of a joke. I’m in a lucky situation where I can upgrade, but I would have to reinstall everything which is time consuming.

  18. Glama_Golden

I don’t give a shit about any one of these things mentioned. Windows 11 is cool with me

  19. A whole bunch of stuff I don’t care about 👍

  20. CriticalConclusion44

    You just hate change, bro.

    Works fine for me.

  21. Ryboe999

People will find any reason to not accept change… talking ‘bout WMR like it means something. 😂

Just do it if you want and stay back if you want to.

  22. estelblade88

This was me and my dad for a year.

I eventually caved and upgraded. Sort of wish I didn’t. But oh well.

  23. Cajiabox

    1: wtf is WMR
2: where is the invassive ai? i dont have copilot and have been using w11 since beta
3: whats wrong with audio settings?
4: i dont even use this so idk

these kind of post forgot the common user doesnt care about most of these things lol

  24. Kaarel314

    Nothing wrong with audio.
    Dont know whats wmr.
Dont know of any broken games that worked on w10.
    AI is completely optional.
Right click menu can be changed back
    W11 gives you:
    Better notepad
    Better command line
    Better file explorer
    Better HDR support
    Makes 7zip/winrar obsolete

Windows 11 is objectively better than 10.

  25. gurugabrielpradipaka

All those pestering things plus telemetry can be fixed with the right programs. Oh yes, if you use your PC like an appliance, obviously you won’t be able to remove all that MS crap, and of course Windows 11 will become a nightmare for you. But if you’re savvy, there’s no real problem for you with Windows 11.

  26. iAmGats

Forced online account is what I really hate about it, second is the horrible desktop context menu.

  27. monnotorium

Is no one gonna complain about the telemetry gathering and the online only installation… You know actual issues?

  28. Financial_Warning534

    This dude said WMR 🤣☠️

  29. Decimation_Creation

I hate how the windows 11 media creation tool asks me to pay for GamePass before I even get access to the operating system.

You’re literally bombarding me with money grabs without even handing me a product yet??

All I want from Windows is to simply remove the requirement of sign in when I’m installing it to a new PC.

I shouldn’t have to use Rufus to bypass any of this bullshit. I like Windows 10 over Windows 11 simply because I can run things as administrator from my arrow keys in the search box without requiring a right click from the mouse.

Once you configure Windows 11, it’s far better than 10, but the start up phase is fucking brutal. Even the Microsoft website comes with a registry key to run that will re-enable the context menu to automatically show more options.

  30. Windows 11 is great*

If you remove everything shitty and replace it with good**

**Which often needs a third party software***

    ***Which often costs money****

****Which often can be obtained through illegitimate means*****

    *****YarHar******

****** I would, in fact, download a car

    Edit: fuck reddit mobile

  31. Flying_Saucer_Attack

Been using windows since win 98, and working in tech for like 12 years. Win 11 is fine, and it’s like this literally every time there is a new version. When windows 12 or windows whateverthefuck is out, it will be everyone complaining about having to leave win 11

  32. Murasasme

I’m currently troubleshooting Marvel Rivals because after switching to W11, it decided not to work anymore. Fuck this OS

  33. Krisevol

Wmr is dead, nothing to do with window 11.

You can change the right click menu to the legacy menu in the settings.

You can use the old audio menu under advance settings.

    AI can be disabled.

    So yes,
Most of windows 11 hate is because people hate change, and aren’t tech savvy enough to use Windows properly.
