The Elder Scrolls Oblivion remastered looks incredible

This was the first Elder Scrolls I played and it is still my most favorite.

Super stoked for this. I’ve played Skyrim for thousands of hours starting on release in 2011 when I was 13. I tried to go back and play Oblivion, but my teenage self just couldn’t get through the dated graphics and gameplay.

The idea of basically an entirely new Elder Scrolls game for a generation of gamers who have only ever known Skyrim is pretty exciting.

Well damn. I don’t follow this stuff and had no idea they were doing this. I guess I’ll be spending some money soon.

Man dropping it on the day the trailer is out and on gamepass. Can’t get better than that

  8. Free on gamepass nice, never got round to playing the OG

    Having never played it….

And it being a Bethesda game….

Safe to say it’s 100s of hours of gameplay and something I shouldn’t even download if I have a massive backlog of unfinished games?

I’ve played Skyrim so much I think I have the damn map memorized, but I’ve never played oblivion! Taking this as my sign to finally dive in

Does anyone know if they modernized the combat or made it more action focused and less floaty, like Skyrim? I will play it wither way, I am just curious

Game pass continuing to provide Ws.

This & Expedition 33 coming out in the same week. We’re eating so good this week.

I really like this method of releasing things. I understand they want to let everyone know early what games are in development, but I think a simple announcement of “We’re doing this thing!”, and then silence until a reveal trailer and same day drop is more exciting and less exhausting than the constant hype. I really liked also having the introduction, and little interviews with people who worked on it, etc.

I can’t wait to walk into the Oblivion gate in Kvatch and wake up on a prisoner carriage in Skyrim.

First time playing Oblivion for me so I’ll be looking forward to this.

    Story time!

I was 17 years old when this game was released. My dad had just been sent to jail, my mother was on a bender, and I’ll be honest here… I was going to off myself. I was coming into the summer of my Junior year in high school. I didn’t have much going on. I wasn’t making stellar grades, it’s not like I had any colleges beating on my door to get me into their schools. I didn’t have a tight friend group, mostly because of the instability in my home and personal life. So I had decided, after being depressed for years, that it was finally time. The 1st day of summer rolls around, and my sister pops by for a visit. She could tell that I had been depressed, and she wanted to cheer me up. So, she pulled out Oblivion from her bag and gave it to me. She knew I had enjoyed Morrowind previously and thought I would like the newest one. So I popped it in and became enthralled. My whole summer was spent exploring every inch of this place. Side quests, main quests, new characters, different fighting styles, you name it. Next thing I knew, I looked up from my screen and my dad was out of jail, and my mother was in rehab.

I know it sounds cheesy, but this game saved my life.

Is the original DLC included as part of the base game?
