I signed up for both years, 1994 and 1995, and I won both times at my local Blockbuster store. Unfortunately the first year I won I was in the process of moving cities, so I never went back and collected my prize.
The second time I won, I got this plaque, some stickers, and other swag that I don't longer have, along with one year of free rentals at Blockbuster, which is only 12 rentals a year because you only get one a month.
Anyway, I was never called back or flown to Florida (?) to participate in the competition for all the store winners, which sucks because that would have been a cool experience and story to have to share with people.

I played in this as well. Won for my store but didn’t get a plaque. I did win a copy of Virtua Racer ( a $90 game at the time). I’ve still got the rule booklet, an event pin, and the game.

I won the competition in my town’s Blockbuster in ’94, mostly off of going on an insane Clay Fighter during Week 3. When I went to regionals, we played NBA Jam and I got my ass handed to me.
Don’t have the trophy anymore, but I still have the hat and all the paperwork for the tournament.

Ayo! I won in taylor Michigan and I got Free PizzaHut for a year and year of rentals i always brag about it like I threw the game winning TD in high-school 🤣 the games were NBA Jam Sonic 3 can’t remember the Indy car game for the third game
I remember when I won my local store for DKC. I had some ridiculously good luck on the first level that just set me up for a win.
I scored myself a year of Blockbuster video game rentals (2 a month, which was really sweet as a 13 year old).

I was in one of those. I managed to win the first round for the SNES (I remember one of the games being TMNT Tournament Fighters). The next round was held in New York City. My game was NBA Jam. I got wiped out.
At least I got a t-shirt out of it that I wore regularly.
Nice! I competed in my local one, but the games were NBA Jam and TMNT Tournament Fighter. I was not good at the first and never played the second, so I was eliminated. However, I was in the West Coast Video Power Play ’94 tournament and won that one. I barely qualified at… Jungle Strike, I believe? One of the series. But the final round was Super Street Fighter 2 and I ended up with a 40k point lead over second place. Won a Sega CD, ten free rentals, and a t-shirt. Still have the shirt somewhere.
My brother and I placed 2nd in our category as part of Nintendo’s Wii Games Summer 2010 national championship! We each got trophies, new consoles, and free games from Nintendo for a year, on top of the trip to Los Angeles that summer to compete after winning our qualifier.
