This is pretty much the norm when it comes to developers/studio having their own launchers.

  2. TheGreatBenjie

Eh, if I’m paying for gamepass I’d like to have access to all the games I pay for.

If you log into your xbox account on the microsoft store and a different account on the xbox app on PC, your kids can use your gamepass subscription.

This is what I’ve done for both of my kids so we can play gamepass games together, since Microsoft removed the Friends and Family sharing option on gamepass and paying 75 dollars a month for gamepass for the three of us is completely unreasonable.

Regardless, EA links to your Xbox app account and not your Microsoft store account. So all EA games are unavailable to the kids because of this stupid requirement.

Don’t utilise part of the service you pay for then I guess

  5. greensparten

This has been around since Xbox One days.

  6. Was able to happily play sims 3 and its expansions which I paid for for many many years. Then I was forced to download ea app one day. Suddenly it doesn’t recognise that I own any of it except for base game and 2 random expacs.

Not even downloading games, it I already have the game on my pc and it won’t let me play

  7. RagnarokCross

Aw man, I can’t believe EA wants me to have an EA account to play their games

  8. FlameStaag

If it actually stopped people, they’d stop doing it

  9. Moist-Leggings

I have not bought an EA title since sim city 2013.

It’s unfortunate everyone doesn’t follow my example, then EA would go bust and all their copyrighted horded destroyed games would be sold off, hopefully to real developers motivated by the joy of making great games, and not killing games to make a quick buck.

Sadly the Rubes keep on Rubin’

There is some of the most whiney lame fucking shit posted here.

  11. Masterchiefx343

And yet I dont see you bitching about needing to open steam?

  12. betam4x

I’ve no clue if they made it easier, however when this first rolled out I was unable to get it to work at all. I assumed it was. marketing gimmick because I did everything right. I eventually gave up and uninstalled.

  13. micheal213

Bro who fucking cares lmao. EA app is fine for pressing “play”

  14. HGLatinBoy

Or any launcher. Y’all got no issues downloading the the Steam launcher, the Xbox launcher, blizzard launcher, the Riot launcher, or the CDPR launcher, or EGS but as soon as it’s EA and Ubisoft you all act indignant and perturbed.

  15. Quigs4494

I get why people don’t like it but this is great for doing things across hardware. This is to make sure all progress you make on one system can transfer over to other consoles. It’s a one time fast set up. I find it great so I can keep progress from Xbox to PC with the gamepass games

  16. People keep forgetting that you also need a steam account to use steam

its like you need it to play games that are on steam

    wow

  17. JediDruid93

I don’t understand the problem? Seriously what is the issue here? It’s not asking you to bend over backwards and crab walk from California to New York.

  18. daddy_is_sorry

Lame joke in 2025 honestly. Not relevant anymore

  19. Is that screenshot legit? It’s riddled with bad grammar. I have a hard time believing either Microsoft or EA would write something an eight year old could have done better.

  20. superkow

I mean the Xbox app is basic just a hub at this point. You’ve got Ubisoft, EA, Battlenet all launching their own launchers from Xbox. But if I’m regularly playing one of those games via game pass I’ll just open the respective launcher to begin with.

What’s really annoying is when you’ve got pointless launcher steps like with GTAV.

  21. Dinostra

Yup, I’m there too. Put another “invasive” launcher or third-party client between me and your game and I’m just out, I don’t even feel like I’m missing out on something because of it. It just kills the game for me.

So no ubi, ea. No social club or other launcher stuff than is “needed” to play the game

  22. Asilva1516

Was literally gonna redownload battlefield V tonight and now this post reminded me why I stoped playing EA games… Guess nothing has changed lmao 🤦‍♂️

  23. UltimateGamingTechie

it’s really not a big deal, a couple of mbs and an account to play a game that you’re already paying for

I don’t understand the people who make a fuss about launchers

  24. thebadslime

I’m pissed red dead 2 requires the rockstar launcher on steam, that’s why I bought it on steam, I wanted to play it on steam. But whatever.

  25. DethBatcountry

I don’t even bother with EA games anymore… The launcher nearly always gives me problems. Not worth the headache.

  26. SuspiciousWasabi3665

As we all know, EA is definitely hurting because of this

  27. Pleasant-Antelope634

These days, any EA game, I convince myself that I’m not missing out on anything by not playing it. Not signing up for SHIT

  28. SidewaysGiraffe

…but it’s okay for Steam, Ubisoft, Epic, and every other company to do it?

And it was okay when they called it “Origin”, trying to destroy the community’s awareness of one of the greatest developers in its history?

  29. Free-Heals-Here

Everytime I think of redownloading a ea game from gamepass I don’t cause I remember I have to use the EA app

  30. Hannover2k

One time setup… almost every time it updates it deletes my logon info. Kiss my ass EA.
