April 2025 will certainly be remembered by all Counter-Strike fans, as Falcons are finally starting to build the dream team they’ve been talking about for several years. Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov has joined the Arab organization, replacing his compatriot Abdul “degster” Gasanov. For many, this transfer was a real sensation, as Abdul was clearly not the weakest link in the team, which he proved at PGL Bucharest by taking the MVP award, despite already knowing about his transfer to the bench. But when a star like Ilya Osipov comes to take your place, there’s nothing you can do. So where and with whom might degster himself end up? Let’s explore in this article.
degster's Playstyle and Character
Before finding a new team for the sniper, we need to define what kind of player he is. First and foremost, it’s worth noting Abdul’s character and professionalism, which he demonstrated more than clearly at the last tournament in a Falcons jersey. Many would have lost motivation or simply started ruining games out of spite, but degster didn’t give any reason to reproach him for anything like that. Abdul’s famous “high fives” are already known throughout the community, with some teammates even moving away as they couldn’t handle these powerful strikes in bursts of emotion during matches.
This explosive character is also reflected in-game, where degster is used to playing quite aggressively and never giving up, which is why highlights during clutch moments have literally followed him throughout his career. Taking space on the map, gaining an advantage, or simply cornering the opponent – these are things the former Falcons sniper does excellently. Of course, due to his risky style, his actions don’t always play to his advantage, but this is a logical price that his team should be ready to pay.
Interesting Facts about degster
To get to know Abdul a bit better, here are some interesting facts that you may not have heard.
- Working for a New Computer
When Abdul was a teenager, his computer broke down, and he had no opportunity to continue playing. To buy a new one, he looked for part-time jobs and saved money, while watching s1mple’s matches on his phone to learn.
- Parental Skepticism
Abdul’s parents were skeptical about his passion for esports, as at that time there weren’t convincing examples that you could earn money by playing games.
- Issues Due to Origin
Abdul has shared that his Dagestani origin sometimes caused prejudice. Some teams preferred players from Moscow or those they knew personally, which complicated his path to the professional scene. He noted that it wasn’t just about being from Dagestan, but also that nobody knew him.
- New Year’s Eve Alone for Training
When Abdul learned about his transfer to Team Spirit, he decided not to celebrate New Year with his family, but to stay home and train all night. Even after a friend invited him to celebrate together, he refused, as he wasn’t in the mood for fun, completely focusing on the game.
- Emotional Connection with Fans
Abdul actively maintains his social media and also has his own news resource on Telegram. The player often records video messages to subscribers immediately after matches. He also handles hate well and skillfully uses criticism as motivation.
Choosing a Team for degster
To get ahead of ourselves, it’s worth noting that joining a team in the immediate future and playing at the Major in Austin is unlikely to happen for him. However, the summer transfer window should be very busy for Abdul, as there are quite a few teams experiencing tough times and will be forced to make changes.
Another important factor will be the amount Falcons will want for parting with the player, because the sheikhs have no problem paying his salary, and no one is going to strengthen competitors for “thank you” either. We hope they will show humanity and not ask for a huge price for Abdul, and now we move on to reviewing options for continuing his career.
FaZe: Is broky Not the Same Anymore?
FaZe’s sniper, broky, has been extremely unstable lately and misses in the easiest situations, causing the team to lose most unnecessary rounds. To be fair, this applies to almost the entire current roster, with the exception of frozen, around whom the next FaZe roster will likely be built. In our opinion, several players will leave FaZe at once, so it’s not entirely reasonable to discuss whether Abdul would fit the team’s playing style. But if we discuss the situation here and now, broky and degster are quite similar players who are used to standing out in their teams and being in primary roles.
There’s no doubt that an organization like FaZe will always be in the world’s top CS teams, so for Abdul, it would be an excellent continuation of his esports journey.
Liquid: A Step the Liquid Ones Should Take
It’s been almost a year and a half since Twistzz’s move to Liquid, and the team still hasn’t delivered results. Now the Handsome One is giving up the captain role to siuhy, and it’s clear that the team is trying to find ways to solve problems. But it seems they should pay attention to ultimate, who after a year at tier-1 still hasn’t managed to strengthen and become a threat to opponents. Yes, he shoots well, can deliver a couple of crazy maps per tournament, but it’s hard to call the Polish sniper a driving force or locomotive leading the team.
But degster is used to performing such a role, and paired with Twistzz, they should ignite a fire in the current roster. It’s sad to watch the lonely Canadian trying to emotionally encourage the team and shape its morale. Remember how Abdul ignited HEROIC, whom they swapped for the fairly stable nicoodoz! The team made it to the top-8 of the Major, not letting NAVI through, and a little earlier reached the semifinals of IEM Rio 2024.
Will Liquid take such a step? It’s hard to answer definitively as they still need to sort out siuhy’s loan, but in the case of degster, there’s definitely something to think about.
G2: Samurai, No Time for Pride
In half a year, the organization has lost two of its most important assets and given both to a direct competitor. Honestly, after NiKo’s departure, there were already many questions about the Samurai’s management, and m0NESY’s departure, whose contract was ending at the end of 2025, seemed only a matter of time. Everything happened even earlier than many expected, and after the arrival of Polish player Hades, the roster began to look like a belated April Fool’s joke.
You lose one of the best players in the world and take a guy who at 25 has only managed to slightly sniff tier-1. Honestly, even another s1mple comeback would have been much more logical and interesting, but this choice is something else. There are grounds to believe that they didn’t take Abdul purely out of principle, so as not to include him in the deal and get everything for m0NESY, down to the last penny. But G2, you could have gotten an insanely motivated player on your team who is just dying to prove the injustice towards him and would help ignite your team. Your players’ eyes aren’t just dimming, they’re almost welling up with tears from hopelessness.
Most likely, the organizations shook hands even before the event in Bucharest, and no one expected to see such a performance from degster. But if they saw everything and still didn’t negotiate this transfer, then don’t expect anything good from G2 in the next six months to a year.
Less Realistic Options
Perhaps it’s time for Abdul to return to Russian-speaking rosters, but unfortunately, this would be an obvious downgrade.
After Team Spirit, which of course he’s not destined to return to in the near future, a more or less realistic and prestigious option is Virtus.pro. However, the Bears have just signed ICY, who is still unstable, but name a player in VP who stands out in this regard. And whether Abdul can work with electroNic’s rather toxic captaincy style is also a question. Nevertheless, on paper, degster fits into the lineup and looks stronger than the young sniper from Kazakhstan.
BetBoom? Not a bad option, but zorte is one of the best players in the current roster, and there’s hardly any point in changing him specifically, even though Abdul is a potential upgrade.
Looking at the case with molodoy in FURIA, we can recall that MIBR also has problems with their sniper saffee, who can’t even achieve a positive rating. But honestly, all these transfers are extremely experimental.

Faze instead of broky, G2 because they need to basically rebuild their roster or Navi instead of wonderful
people who think he is better than broky,i have no clue where did that come from.He played for years on decent teams never in my life i thought wow this guys is better than broky.People who say that broky is inconsistent, probably never watched degster, degster is just as inconsitent and has lower peak than broky. So no, he shouldnt replace broky imo.On the other hand was he better option for g2 than hades?sure. No way NaVi ukranian org picks russian now
Maybe even Ence?

Hard to say. Heroic were rumoured they wanted to bench him before they sold the core and how much is his performances just he’s got nothing to lose
For Liquid maybe it’s worth a gamble if Ultimate continues as he is.
Could vp be an option perhaps?
Also G2 should have gone for him instead of Hades loan. Wtf?
I love degster but I don’t see him in tier 1 anymore. He could replace Icy and even that I am not sure if it will be an upgrade . Instead tier 1.5 / 2 teams could be good fit for him. As for Broky, Faze will need to replace him if they want to stay competitive but switching him with Degster is not the fix either. They need to find a superstar awper or bring one of these young cracked CIS snipers and coach him.
VP could use a better awper, but idk how much elec likes degster after the last time they faced off.
Degster gets a good event where hes the MVP when the hard hitting teams of vitality, spirit, mouz, and even navi aren’t there. Not to mention they were 0-2
He was benched from spirit. He was benched by OG. He gets onto heroic and is about to get benched and only ends up on falcons because they need the heroic core for major qualification.
And for some reason, reddit seems to forget all about this consistent pattern of getting benched and want him on ‘x’ team to make them ‘better’.
What the hell.
Then again, people all forgot about how faze was shit for 6 months, do a a miracle run at the major, and now blame elige for ruining faze…
The recency bias is absolutely insane.
Degster has been a 1.05 rated awper for the past 3 months. To put that into perspective for awpers that have played similar tournaments
Icy 1.02
W0nderful 1.02
Sl3nd 1.04
Ultimate 1.04
Broky 1.06
910 – 1.07
Nqz 1.08
Maka 1.08
Device 1.11 (save this man)
Woxic 1.11
Torzsi 1.11
Sh1ro 1.23
Zywoo 1.42 (my fucking goat)
And yeah, rating isn’t everything, but what else is degster bringing to the table when hes constantly getting benched? Constant stream of bad luck or red flag?
Either VP or g2
I think it might just be another tier 1.5 team like heroic, OG, whatever
