Any visual or sound mod is not cheating but its an unfair advantage that should be integrated for all
JRobertson7987
For sure an advantage but my god it makes the game sound like complete dog shit… sounds like you’re playing the audio in a toilet
SillyMikey
Let’s just put it this way, would they allow some people but not everyone have these types of settings in a call of duty tournament? If not, then it’s cheating.
Nintendo_Pro_03
That would be like saying the Nvidia filters are cheating.
nug4t
nah, I can hear mostly fine.. unlike last iterations of warzone

Audio feels noticeably better since Verdansk. Less other noises muffling the volume I think
The audio is so loud I heard someone running on the airport tarmac and I was 4-5 stories up and thought they were bottom floor of my red roof building
This brings its own issues but I’d rather it be super loud than non existent

I can hear sounds well, but I can’t tell where they are coming from a lot of the time. And some sounds cancel out others. It’s like the engine can’t handle simultaneous sounds, so it turns one off.

What drives me crazy is I never hear others’ footsteps really to my advantage, and then the game I think intentionally doesn’t let you hear your own footsteps (because it would be annoying/not too helpful I guess), but when I die and watch a killcam, my footsteps are like DOOMP DOOMP DOOMP DOOMP DOOMP DOOMP DOOMP, like bro I have to check if someone’s knocking on my door IRL

Can’t agree on the first part at all. Footstep audio is insane now, and I’m on console so no artiswar or loudness EQ. I hear literally everything now, I can tell what building someone is in 50 metres away, I hear people crouch walking even. I can even tell, for the first time ever, whether someone is above or below me based on their footsteps. There is basically no stealth in the game now. The only time anyone can ever sneak successfully is if there is gunfire or an air strike to briefly drown out footstep audio.
If anything (and I say this with tongue slightly in cheek because it’s obviously much better than the alternative that we usually have to deal with) they’re a little *too* loud now as it gives a huge disadvantage to anyone trying to play aggressively against someone holding a position.
Note – all the above applies to Verdansk only, I haven’t played Rebirth enough to have an opinion about the audio there.
Honestly I think they’ve done a great job with audio on this update, it’s lightyears better than it has been at any previous point in BO6 and maybe any other version too.

So if you didn’t buy the cheap version of gaming system that is designed with unupgradable parts, has a limited function OS designed to be a basic media center…. “Your cheating!”
It’s literally the fundamental restrictions that your console has because it’s designed to do all these functions you want… With a $500 price tag… Lol it’s like saying you want all the features and comforts of a Ferrari but only want to pay for a 1996 Honda.

PC players extremely fast to attack AA and also extremely fast to defend Artiswar which is more or less an audio UAV if you’re willing to sacrifice your future hearing

Artiswar is literally just surround sound and EQ, an advantage sure but no way it’s cheating
kinghawkeye8238
I hear everything just fine on verdansk. It’s a lot better than before.

To be fucking clear
Audio was way better for maybe 2, 3 days after Verdansk update. I was able to localize an enemy.
Then after some in-game update it became absolute ass again.
Comprehensive_Ad4291
Verdansk audio is fine, rebirth audio is trash since the S3 update..
Kobrastrike0311
I think the audio is much better. My buddies also agree. We are all on Xbox so maybe it’s a settings thing for you
lilbigchungus42069
artiswar audio is just enhanced eq really, it also makes some annoying sounds really loud, directional audio is still pretty bad with it, your teammates audio is as loud as enemy and can’t really tell the difference. you’re just way less likely to get snuck up on, but everyone is crouched in the corner of a room ads’ing anyway
MonkeyChums27
Nope you are wrong.

What i dislike a lot since og wz is the spatial sound, I was used to playing rust where you could identify if someone was left top up down without any issue while in wz i can identify that someone is close, with this iteration i can know with the texture of the ground where he might be, but left right is hard imo

I don’t know but Verdansk casual felt worse today, for some reason. It’s like they changed something and now it plays like a normal BR filled with sweats and I had a match where I didn’t encounter any bots.
And yeah, footsteps definitely feel different too. Something has been changed in the last few days.

I miss flex from mw3.
though ngl with just loudness eq and the headphones bass boosted option, my audio has been consistently decent since bo6
TheBiddyDiddler
The artiswar sound setup thing is literally using third party/external software to improve performance of your game outside of what Activision/CoD has approved. If that isn’t considered cheating I don’t know what is.
NoFlaccidMint
Really? I hear footsteps perfectly, almost too perfect. My buddy on the other hand, seems almost oblivious to any footsteps or sound around him lol.
