Yeah it’s pretty ridiculous. People kept wondering why I wanted the 3060. Is it old? Sure, but it has 12gb and a fair price. Suits my needs too.
8GB is just not cutting it anymore.
Edit: Former user of a RX 570 8GB btw.

Forget the vram part.. 600 bucks for a 60 class card is truly smoking the bad shit
Thestonemason42
We’re not buying them that’s what we’re gonna do.
Eagle_eye_Online
Intel seems to be hard at work to self destruct
Nvidia is doing the same thing.
I guess al we have left soon is AMD.
Expect those prices to go up there as well because they no longer have competitors.
bloviatinghemorrhoid
One thing to point out is our $ isn’t worth what it used to be. That probably could account for roughly $100 of it. Still bs tho.. 8gb in 2025 is just dumb. Really feel like the 5000 series should have been the line of demarcation for a 12gb floor.
the_Real_Romak
You lot elected a complete wanker who’s directly made it more expensive to buy shit in your soil, is what you’re doing.
Batnion
it is the tuf series. There is the asus prime 5060ti for 420 for 8gb and 480 for 16gb, still higher than msrp but much closer.
laxusdreyarligh
Same price as 9070 with 8gb less vram and probably 40-50% less performance xddd
chiplover3000
“What are we doing”?
Keep buying the cards at those prices, and giving the companies no incentive to lower prices.

Already sold out
SomeWeirdFruit
man, AMD should step up their driver game fast they gonna own the consumer gpu market if they can do so

The 4070 Ti Super I bought last December will probably be the last Nvidia card I buy if they don’t get their shit together. Hell, I was already considering getting something like a 7800 XT or 7900, but ultimately stuck with team green because I prefer dlss over fsr
SaltyBones_
I legit got myself excited to build a PC today and then realised how stupid expensive it is…
Alarmed-Artichoke-44
They expect you play cs2 only
CassetteLine
That’s the piece I would want the top 5080 variant to be at, let alone a 5060.
The joys of NVIDIA being so dominant!
Aggressive_Ask89144
The RX 290 had it in like 2014 😭
cr0wnest
At this rate you’re better off with the RX 9070 non XT lmao.
confusingadult
dont worry gonna sell out like crazy. remember the most current popular gpu is 4060. people here just complaining nonsense
PossessedCashew
We are living in the worst economy of our time, that’s what’s happening.
Tiipped
I got my 8gb rx 580 for $71, this pricing truely is terrible for the same amount of vram
Even-March-3098
Tf sold out already?
Bodybuilder_Jumpy
Yeah go for it. Chug it down, hopefully it will lower the prices on some 5070s.

You people (who buy em) disgust me

Keep buying NVIDIA. You are creating your own problems.

You’re doing: Not buying. Don’t buy at inflated prices.

Next up im going amd for the first time but im most likely buying used. And im making sure the seller upgraded to another amd card.
DrKrFfXx
Buy 2 for mighty 16GB. The more you buy, the more vram.
techjesuschrist
Actually, considering a 5090 with 32GB is 3000$ (real store price, not fake MSRP) 500$ for 8GB is not that crazy if you think from Nvidias perspective:
32:4= 8GB
3000:4 =750$
/s (because this is reddit and people might actually think I could really be defending Nvidia).

I would recommend the RX 580 8GB if it still had driver support. I got mine for ~£50 on ebay
Necessary-Scratch889
There’s no reason why anyone should buy an 8GB card in 2025. I don’t care what fool told you. “It was OK if you turn settings down” it’s not it’s a rip off.
The_Burning_Face
Remember 5 years ago when everyone was buying from scalpers and other people said that the manufacturers would cotton on to this and raise their prices because people were paying inflated prices?
Yeah.
Suedewagon
Intel Arc to the rescue. If you put a bit more money in you can get a 9070 that trades blows with the 5070ti.
xonex1208
If you think that’s expensive imaging trying to get one here in Mexico and lucky if you got one before resellers.
