I can’t remember a time when Mindfactory has reported Nvidia sales being higher than AMD in the same segment. And yet, Nvidia is still a virtual monopoly in the discrete GPU segment.
Sales so good you can only buy one for 3-400 bucks over retail.
Yeah but, you can actually buy a 9070xt. At mostly reasonable prices (hey I know this situation varies don’t lecture me). How far do you need to go for 2K gaming? I think 5070ti is the direct competitor and while slightly faster not worth the NVIDIA tax.
It’s about dollars in pocket (dollars to invest atm). I don’t need or want to be the cool kid on the block. I mean my primary vehicle is legal drinking age , well everywhere. I don’t care that my video card isn’t the fastest just that it does what I need it to do.
And in other news. Toyota sells more units than BMW.

MIndfactory is a funny one, because they always have AMD outselling everyone and everything, like for the sake of all of us I hope AMD is doing well, but if you went by mindfactory sales our whole world would be AMD right now.

Good for them, but also let’s not pretend this actually means anything for marketing share. DIY will always be a tiny sliver of the pc market and when it comes to prebuilts which make the majority of systems, there are 20 nvidia systems on store shelves for every 1 amd system.
Means nothing unless GAMERS are buying them. Just because they are selling to scalpers doesn’t mean they are selling for the right reasons.
If they don’t show up on the Steam hardware survey in meaningful capacity, they don’t exist.
to be fair they probably only made about 100 5080 cards, 200 at a push
