i wonder if it’s similar to the bug where you have an extra teammate. i remember a couple years ago playing fortunes keep and we had 5 teammates. the game only showed me and 3 random teammates who were on my team, but my actual friend that i queued with was not listed on our team yet was a friendly player with us who could ping and not be impacted by friendly fire. i assume the game did not really consider him as a real player, maybe the same as you.
