As the title says; I cut a hole in the base and installed a piece of PVC pipe to duct direct fresh cold air straight to the blower on my 2080ti
Doubles as a stand to prevent sag since the GPU screw mounts on old dells don’t actually screw in; it more “friction fits”
I only had to sacrifice front USB 3.0 lol

But I dropped from 86° with furmark to a flat 81°
For the low price of $3 and a dremel cut off wheel, I solved a problem that was bothering me for weeks
Just in time to start playing Last of Us Part 2
Nice I like jank stuff like this that actually makes a difference in thermals
This is sweet man. You could even put another fan in that hole, pulling in more cold air to the GPU..
Sick.
I’d be inclined to put a dust filter over it. At least stick an old stocking over the hole with magnets or something.
Adds like an extra 5hp
“Cold air intake”? LOL
The technical term is “speed hole”.
intercooler when
Sweet. This concept made my wraith Stealth cooler a champ in an ultra defender case.
Where’s the K&N filter?
this is great. consider repasting with some PTM7950 and fresh pads for the other components. you could probably lop off another 5-6 degrees and have more room for turboing!
**The succ**
Now make the entire system ducted…. you know you want to….
Give it some standoffs make it taller for even better airflow!
That only works if you can now show us where the cold air comes from like on the cars tho.
Gonna suck alot of shit into your gpu doing that
Nice!
I remember when cases used to come with funnels for the cpu fan 😭

I was expecting to come see a K&N cone filter sticking out the side of the case
Make sure you also adjust the tune.
Lol the CAI statment made me laugh a little.
Bro posted this and didn’t even mention temps
Better cold air intake than most car builds I’ve seen.
before/after benchmarks and temperature differences would’ve been awesome to see
