These red dust looking things dont feel like dust as it doesnt come off even when using something sharp to scrape it off unlike dust where its so light and easy to come off.

    Definitely rust! High humidity area??

I think it’s rust, dude xD Just scraping it with some sandpaper, in theory, wouldn’t be a problem.

Sorry, that’s a clear sign of a computer virus.

Most likely something spilled on top of the case and dripped down the back where it wasn’t seen and never got cleaned off so it formed rust.

It’s only surface rust though and only appears to be on the case and not any important parts so I’m going to say it’s completely fine to keep using it.

You can clean most of it off and paint over it again to seal the metal so it doesn’t get worse, but there is no real urgency

how close are you from the ocean? that is rust.

Rust – the dust collects moisture which causes the metal to start rusting.

That’s called rust someone suggested using sandpaper which will make the problem worse by exposing more of that bare metal that was painted. You definitely have a moisture problem be nice to know how your PC is situated.

Figure out where the moisture is coming from.

    Corrosion ?

look like your case paint have an issue.

Use a heavy steel wire brush and scrap it all off. Take a can of black paint and primer and go over it, and it should be fine.

If you’re going to sand / wire wool the rust off, take everything out of the case. You don’t want metal shavings in your electronics. Personally I would leave it alone or increase fan speeds until you buy a new case.

It’s time to change the cabinet
That’s what this red color spots meaning

If I were you, I wouldn’t worry too much about that unless it got close to the GPU slots.

I suggest just clean out the case and check for other rust spots, then scrape off the paint around the rust, clean it well with ammonia and take a can of spray paint to patch it. This prevent it from spreading.

Rust isn’t conductive so it won’t cause any problems, but once it starts it can spread.
You most likely have a very humid room.

your computer has virus it is isck and has virus and it is sick and has virus and it is sick and needs medicine and it is has virus

Your PC has cancer, aka rust. What’s happened is you haven’t cleaned your pc and moisture gets trapped in the dust and sits there, causing rust around the fan. If you leave it and don’t clean your pc it will spread like cancer and rot your case, so no. You can’t leave it alone.

What you can do is take the fans off and give the case a thorough clean, and sand the rust back and spray paint over the clean metal

A lot of people are making jokes about the game Rust.

If you’re wondering what that reddish dust actually is, it’s something called ligma.

  26. bert_the_one

It’s corrosion or rust, so the only thing you can do is sand it off, or use a Dremel if it’s a bit tough, get some galvanising spray to protect it, then spray black again or another colour if you’re modding or feeling more ambitious.

Gunk buildup from cigarette smoke or vape.
