Dead space 2 remake got cancelled way back because the first remake “sold too little” IIRC

I played through the remake not to long ago and loved it.
I have the remaster on my ps5, but I still haven’t booted it up because when I played when it first came out I had wild nightmares.
I was honestly impressed to see EA cook a remake so good in this day and age.

I received the OG release of Dead Space from EA when they gave away free games years back. I’m fighting an internal battle to not buy the remake cause it looks so damn good

Isnt it funny how the best games nowadays are mostly just remakes of older games 😂 there was definitely a golden age of gaming and we are well past it

I just finished 100 percenting the remake about a week ago. Awesome game.
I lost a bet with a friend, thanked him for forcing me play the first game. It was amazing experience. But I didn’t enjoy the zero gravity section cause it made me nauseous for some reason and I had to stop several times lol. But will try to play the second game this summer.
When I see aliens I use the foot stomp on em. 🙂 it’s fun doing it

I played the original when it first came out. I was living in my first apartment, just moved out of my parents.
Played this at night with a 5.1 set up in the dark and I can still remember how on edge it made me feel. I loved it, a gaming experience that really stuck with me.
Playing through the remake for a 2nd time now and it’s incredible. Amazing game

The remaster is one of the best games I have ever played, it is absolutely terrifying to the point were I was doing some kind of half scared laugh playing it just waiting for some other freaky bastard to jump out at me.

Remake is so good
Dead Space is still to this day my favorite Survival Horror franchise. Dead Space 2 and RE4 made me fall in love with survival horror games, and I do a playthrough of the Dead Space trilogy at least once a year. Ill go so far as to say Dead Space 3 is not as bad as people say it is (but is still the worst of the 3 main games by far)
The remake is the first of the games ive 100% cleared and I enjoy it far more then the original. However it’s not perfect. I found it significantly easier then the OG, even on the hardest difficulty. The writing is very….meh. I drfinitely prefer the original Hammond and Dr. Kyne compared to their remake versions.
Isaac actually being a character instead of just a voiceless guy in a suit for the player is refreshing. I enjoy hearing him interact with the other members of the crew and giving his perspective on the different objectives on the ship.
All in all, the Dead space remake is one of the best remakes ive played, and I played the Re4 remake right after it. Next I guess ill do the Silent Hill 2 remake. Never dis play the original, or any silent hill game for that matter.

Holds up quite well also I had a buddy play through this game for the first time like 3 years ago and he loved it.
Unfortunately that was just before the remake came out which I hear is great.
