I’m referring to one of Richtofen’s audio logs from Shattered Veil, where he says Krafft told him he’d take precautions to ensure Edward never even laid eyes on the Sentinel Artifact. Maybe Krafft reached out to Norticus, Bellekar, Saraxis, Inviktor, and Vercanna—asking them to make sure it never falls into Richtofen’s hands?
Audio Log – Obstacles
An unfortunate roadblock is discovered.
Richtofen: I am troubled. My attempts to locate the Sentinel Artifact have thus far met with abject failure. Obstacles are to be expected. Especially when dealing with… Family matters. But, at this stage I cannot help but wonder if some of these obstacles, are ones of mein own creation. I would give anything to be able to see – and talk to – Samuel and Mary again. I wish my father felt the same toward me, but instead he has rejected me. Disowned me! The stubborn old fool believes I am embarking on a misguided – and dangerous – path. He dared to suggest that I have drifted beyond grief, beyond depression, and into mania and obsession!Shame on him. I would have thought that his own personal loss would have helped him understand, but no. When I grew up, he would ramble incessantly about his beliefs in the occult. But as soon as I finally showed interest – in how it could help me – I was met with more resistance!! He even went as far as to say he would take steps to ensure that I never so much as laid eyes upon the Artifact. That he would rather die than see me possess it! However angry I am at him, however bitter I feel over his rejection… I do hope it does not come to that.
Hopefully, we’ll see them try to stop our crew from helping Richtofen—even if his intentions are pure. They made a promise to Krafft, and honoring that is the least they could do, now that he’s gone.

Does anyone else think it’s lame we basically got baited with chaos coming back only for the sentinel artifact to be a mcguffin?, like it doesn’t act like how it does in chaos and we haven’t activated a trial?, nothing further about the chaos story and characters has been learnt? It feels like this artifact could have been anything they wanted to make up but they chose the sentinel artifact just to trick people into caring. The only thing that’s come out of it worthwhile is the Z Rex
Yeah that was before Grey and Weaver knew they helped Maxis KILL HIS WIFE AND SON! They literally got burnt alive for what exactly? Far as I know Eddie didn’t go after anyone in Reqium or start any experiments till some ass hats botched an assassination attempt.
Team Eddie for life
The problem being is the journey Archibald went to get the Artifact was in 1908 and died. Krafft would be too young to make any connections to do so. Even Richtofen wasn’t in the timeline, born or otherwise from Tag.
When Krafft means he’ll ensure Edward doesn’t lay eyes on the thing, he just means in the present text and won’t reveal a thing to him about how to get it. Not that he did anything to actually hide it himself as it was already hidden. As evidenced by the events of Citadelle, Edward paid a syndicate to beat his father that info out and obviously didn’t work
I don’t think this implies he hid it as much as he knew where it was or at least had a hunch or a lead.
Plain and simple, it’s just a MacGuffin that will allow treyarch to bring back Primus in an attempt to bring the prestige and excitement back to zombies. It’s a real disappointment that they didn’t take more effort into melding in more elements of the Chaos storyline. While the story wasn’t widely well received at the time,I would say that in comparison with the CW/VG/BO6/MWZ storyline, it was much more entertaining. Especially when you consider the creativity of trying something new, instead of just being a generic “multiverse dark dimension” story that’s been going around in popular culture for the last 5-6 years.
Or we could ignore v**gaurd connections… wait didn’t they all die by the forsaken
