I feel like these results are pretty bad for my set up but cant seem to see whats wrong. I have my 9800x3d at -20 CO can when i turn everything back to default RAM, GPU, CPU the score ends up being worse.

Any suggestions on what you think could be going on here? thanks.

Found it!, you have too much memory. 100%

Just kidding, That is indeed weird, your CPU score is waaay too low, you should be looking at 17k are you sure you peeled off the plastic when installing the CPU cooler?

you sure you are not unstable? your cpu score looks horrible for timespy i get around 17800 on my 9800x3d with +200 fmax and co

    Reset your bios.

Only enable EXPO setting on your ram, touch nothing else.

Install hwinfo64. Launch it sensors only.

Run a 3dmark run. How does the performance compare, and are there any red numbers in hwinfo?

My 9950x3d only gets 14500 CPU score, but on Cinebench 2024 gets 142 which is fine. No idea why, have tried everything. Stopped worrying about it because it was frustrating as heck.

6400 ram speed, did you set 1:1 manually? Goes prob to 1:2 on auto. What fclk you runnin, auto? Would it then be 1600? 🫠

    Post a zentimings pic.

Maybe your thermal material didn’t spread well? I don’t know that chip too well but maybe it is having trouble with temp control and it doesn’t look too hot because it’s throttling? I feel like with -20 CO it should be cooler on that bench, and it would make sense if it was a thermal issue that it would get worse with default settings.

This is a 3D mark issue especislly if your CPU is working fine in Cinebench etc. To satisfy 3D Mark just turn off SMT in BIOS this will be the easiest fix.

Make sure you have hyper threading enabled in bios. (Multi threading). Might only be using 8 threads for 8 cores instead of all 16 threads!

This is bellow average. But the people saying it should be 17k never specified that for a 17k cpu score you have to have some silicon luck tuned memory, very optimized. The truth is average cpu score there is 15k or so…16k+ is tweaked for sure. This kind of misinformation can be very misleading. Show 17k score link and whats done to get there is my point. The baseline score of up to about 16k with good silicon is achievable with a pbo +200. Beyond that its a bit deeper than that.
