Needed exposure for the Impact scene. Better than a showmatch but worse for a third place decider should be played in that slot.

ESL impact matches should take place before or after the main tournament matches, never at the same time

This is such a shit move. They’re eliminating the stage games that have been growing year over year in the convention. In return they are giving 2 teams a bo1 in the arena.
This is a lame cost cutting measure masquerading as an upgrade. Im sure the teams would’ve rather it stayed the same.

Wait but doesn’t the article say that now the stage phase is played without audience? The image they show also says there will only be 1 day of groups phase that will only have the (I guess) finals of the upper bracket.
I wouldn’t like to buy an expensive ticket and move to Dallas supporting a smaller team like NRG just to not being able to watch a single match of them.
It’s me or adding the female final is only an excuse to save costs and not have the first three days with audience? Why not both?
The cynic in me says this is setting a precedent so the Impact finals will be played in Riyadh at some point in the next 2 years.
