So I had been waiting for the 5000 series announcement, wanted to get the 5090 or maybe 5080….then the announcement and release came….

What a disappointment and disaster of a series…

So I decided I would try find a 4090 and upgrade other parts of my system as well and still be cheaper than those ridiculous 5090 prices.

Unfortunately 4090 prices sky rocketed as many shared my disappointment.

Most are selling for $2500-$3500+ AUD.

Eventually I came across a crazy deal on a whole threadripper + 4090 PC and thought maybe I could take the 4090 out and sell the rest. Bought the PC for $4000. Sold it minus the GPU for $3000.

And that's how my Asus TUF OC rtx4090 cost me $1000 AUD….

I hope this can motivate some of you to find something good on the used market instead of supporting NVIDIA's bullshit they are pulling lately

Ok great now fix the AIO orientation, you’re filling the pump with air bubbles.

TUF edition too! I remember from the various GPU round ups that it was one of the best 4090’s SKU’s out there!

What’s the cpu? Threadrippers aren’t known for having great gaming performance, but maybe the newer ones are?

Pretty good you paid half for something that I paid full price for and yours is still faster. I have a 5080. But mine’s more efficient for the Earth LOL.

Congrats man. I luckily got priority access with the mine so I got it at MSRP. You really don’t need a 50 series if you have this beast and with all the 5090 problems you’re probably better off. 1) If you don’t already have one I recommend a ATX 3.0 PSU. 2) don’t use cable mod for this thing I had it melt twice. this isn’t a bash on them as they took care of me 100% and I will still do business with them but once I switch to the ATX 3.0 and used the native cable I have not had a single issue.
