Well it’s true, on bench he is of no value to NAVI. Plus I believe he is getting paid some portion of his salary too. Would make more sense for NAVI to just get rid of him if they don’t plan on putting him back on the active lineup.

Navi mishandled this situation so bad.
They wanted the highest price or nothing, which is a weird business decision. They could have negotiated a price that may be lower than market value, but atleast you are getting something. Considering m0NESY just went for 2.5 mill (allegedly), they could have atleast gotten a mill out of him. Contract jail truly suits no one, unless you have a vendeta against them and just enjoy seeing them sitting in the bench

What made him the best in GO was his grind mentality. He will need to work extremely hard to get back to even 80% at his best. I don’t think he has it anymore but no doubt do I want to watch it for the small chance that he does.

The articles states that his contract expires at the end of this year, so it is likely that Navi will want to sell him during the off-season, otherwise he will become a free agent from 2026.
That said, I don’t see any takers coz let’s be real s1mple no longer has that motivation if you watch his streams. Plus, he has played like 2 LANs since CS2 came out, so that is an additional risk you take on. To top things off, s1mple’s toxic attitude will not be tolerated by a lot of the top-tier pros.

But this legacy has kinda crashed out. He left his team in the cold by being a bitch at the start of cs2. Sure, game was and still is meh, but everybody else continued the grind.
And then navi winning a major without him killed the storyline that he took navi to majors alone.
But not all offers are equal. I can imagine some teams send him an offer just to see if he hooks on it.

To me he was undoubtedly the best ever in csgo by a wide margin, but still I wouldn’t sign him now for any t1 team. And the reason for that is that he simply doesn’t care anymore. If he took a break and then returned to the grind, I have no doubt someone would’ve paid the buyout and he would’ve been a top10 player now, but he just doesn’t play the game. When he was in the 200k duos tournament he literally played fucking dota between the tournament matches. That really says it all.
The only chance we see him back is if navi drops the buyout completely and s1mple drops the expectations and joins a t2 team, but I think he’s too rich and proud to go for that.

I see people talk about the grind factor coming into play. I agree that donk and monesy have that burning desire but at the same time I know for a fact niko isn’t grinding like he used but still is keeping his form up. elige is not grinding like old elige and xantares seems like he is sick of this fucking game unless he is on LAN.
you don’t need simple to grind 80 pugs a week, you just need him to want to play. he doesn’t right now. he might soon. I really believe zywoo hitting his peak right now and over taking him is pissing him off deep down.
