Returned my Asus intel motherboard and 14900k CPU. I purchased it a few weeks ago and had buyers remorse instantly but I was too lazy to remove the mobo and processor to return them.
Today I took it apart and did the return and purchased an Asus AMD motherboard, 9950X3D and some ram. Time to build.

Yeah the 14900K is a dead processor. Nobody has time 2 years after release whether Intel’s bios updates actually made it not degrade
Made a similar move in 2023 with the 7800x3D. Happy ever since.
Intel has lost its way and does not seem to know what they want to be anymore.
Nice bro!
Sweet!
Waiting for the Crosshair Extreme.
As soon as I feel the need to upgrade, I’m going with AMD and never looking back. I’ve been with Intel since the i5-3330, and I bought my 12600KF with hopes of upgrading to the 14th generation before the whole controversy went down. Now I’m stuck with an LGA 1700 platform with no viable upgrade path without risking failure. Fuck Intel.
I suppose I’ve been lucky with Intel, I’ve had an 8700k as my first processor, then I went to a 13700k (before all the corrosion issues) now I have a 14900k since it turned into a work computer. I’ve not once had an issue, but I 100% agree that AMD is the best thing to go for right now for gaming and even some other applications. They’ve done a hell of a job these past few years. Have fun with that X3D, they’re monsters!
How fast a company drops in relevancy. Intel used to be king of CPUs now it’s nothing. NVidia king of GPUs while AMD is better than Intel in GPUs AND CPUs. What is Intel doing at this point?
Also just went from a 13600k to a Ryzen 9800x3d. I mainly play Escape from Tarkov and my performance has increased dramatically! It was an expensive upgrade but 100% worth it!

Full AMD build and super satisfied with it. Funny how Intel used to be top dog for cpus, but now the best of the best all comes from AMD, at least for gamers. How times have changed
This motherboard is so cool but its too bad there was no bundle for the 9950x3d. I ended up with the Strix and a 9800x3d. I can’t personally justify more than $1000 for this. Enjoy it for me!
Welcome to red team 🙂
I have that same board and CPU, enjoy it!
Went from 12700k to 9950x3D. No regrets
I was all intel for years, but my last two workstations have been a 7950x and now a 9950x and they have been great. I’d like to build a threadripper but my workload just doesn’t really reach that need often enough. Been very happy with the AMD chips, no issues.
“Hi Reddit, Hello karma”.
I have seen this post 3 times over the course of 1 month. What the fuck?
Smart.
