Not a bug, its a feature. Valve realized they can move their supply curve of gem knives to match the demand, this will in turn make them way more money on unboxing.

i really hope this is true, as an og csgo players it doesnt make any sense to keep the market in its current state, just look at the numbers, it's stagnant, no one is buying skins anymore, the steam market sells like 1 variation of a butterfly knife per week because no one is paying that money, and people who own them think that suddenly every kid is going to sell their parents family car to buy a skin in the game lol, the amount of people willing to pay that money is less than the amount of skins available, in the end this is just a game so ruining the experience for the avg player who earns the price of a knife per month is not worth it for valve

Honestly I don't mind it, the artificial rarity was kinda weird… Imagine Karambit Fade was made 10 times rarer than Karambit Safari Mesh/Urban Masked etc. just because it looks better. The knives are already rare as is and the ones that are desirable are worth multiple times more without Valve altering their rarity.
