I recreated one of HeavyGod’s recent moments on Nuke entirely in Unreal Engine! The atmosphere of this project was heavily inspired by my recent trip to Seattle, where my girlfriend and I spent the whole day soaking in the unique vibe of the city. It’s a place that feels dangerous (but maybe “gritty” is a better word?), yet undeniably warm and alive—it left such a strong impression on me that I had to channel it into this project. That’s also why I chose “Smells Like Teen Spirit” as the soundtrack—it just felt right.

Huge thanks to Adenex, Lauransky, and Kit for their incredible tools that make it possible for creators to bring CS2 moments to life in Unreal Engine. Also, a massive shoutout to Karambit.gg for providing the stunning textures for the in-game skins featured in this video.

Let me know what you think of this reimagining of CS2!

  1. As I always do, I wanted to pull back the curtain and share a bit of the behind-the-scenes process for this video. The total work time is estimated at about 50 hours, but honestly, most of that was spent battling with glass scattering simulations in Houdini. It’s a software I’ve always been a little afraid to touch, and after days of struggling to get the effect just right, I eventually gave up and moved the simulation directly into Unreal Engine using their Chaos system instead.

For rendering, I tried something new this time: I used Screen Space Reflections (SSR) for global illumination instead of my usual go-to, Lumen. I also wanted to test SSR for reflections, but I wasn’t happy with how it turned out, so I reverted to Lumen for those and rerendered everything. The total render time was about 2 hours at 4K, 30 FPS.

This project pushed me out of my comfort zone in so many ways, and even though not everything went as planned, I’m super happy with how it turned out. Let me know if you’d like me to share more about the process!

  2. Nice edit! Seattle (and Washington in general) is such a beautiful place. I also went there with my girlfriend recently and it's left such a lasting impression on us. Can't wait to go back!

  3. How did you swapped m9 animation here? Because sometimes its m9 animation and sometimes it is one for gut/huntsman
