    This is something I’ve seen in a pre 2020 game. Very similar to the pupil thing. Don’t exactly remember the name of the game.

    I’m pretty sure they were inspired from either that game or something similar.

    The game is Echo.

    Essentially you are stuck in an “infinite palace” that has activated and wants you gone. It’s a pretty badass puzzle/action game with horror elements.

    I still remember the moment when I found out that you can walk in that room from BO 1 menu by pressing the spacebar several times

    This was one trippy game. But some of the gameplay elements really were annoying.

    Still a great setting and the copy cat mechanic are worth another stab honestly
