Usually the difference between pulling and pushing air through a heatsink is negligible. As long as the airflow path is coherent and the fans are designed for decent static pressure you’re fine

As long as the CPU cooler’s fans are oriented to direct the air rearward toward the exhaust fan, this is perfectly fine.

I have a very similar setup RAM/cooler wise and you should be able to place the fan up front, just a bit higher. How this higher position affects cooling I’m not sure though, maybe the efficiency you’d lose from placing it behind is already lost of you place it higher like I proposed.

I have one fan ‘behind’ my cpu cooler pulling air through and it’s completely fine, it’s only a 5600x though.

Was it not possible to place it lower, so the fans are in a more linear setup?
