Love when people treat used PC parts the same as car parts.
No, it doesn’t matter how used a CPU or GPU is. They will still perform the same and last just as long as a brand new one 99% of the time. The natural degradation of PC parts is not really something you can speed up unless you do extreme hardcore overclocking. Or stupid overclocking killing your CPU by shitting voltage into it, but X3Ds are voltage locked anyways so they’re always a safe buy.
What’d they expect? It’s not like it’s going to sit on your desk for your admiration. It’s going to be smeared like the dirty little hot mofo it is, and that’s how it like it.
Thank them for bringing that to your mind, but it’s not “quite used”, rather it’s been rigorously tested in real-world conditions, proving its reliability and effectiveness time and time again. Given its solid performance and the value it consistently delivers, you’ve made the decision to adjust the price accordingly.
What do you expect. Everybody tries to get a discount and save money. Due to you’re not showing how much you want to charge. Here in Europe many people try to get fullprice on there used parts even they are not in warranty anymore or don’t have the receipt. So sure he is asking for a discount when there’s a inconvience like dirt or marks on the cpu.
Get you some isopropyl alcohol and clean it properly.
P.s. a car with a scratch can also drive perfectly fine. Does people try to get a discount? Hell for sure.
Just clean it properly and make some good photos. This will avoid this kind of questions.

If youre one of those clowns that think they can sell a used 7800x3d for 500$ – 650$ because the current pricing is a joke due to 9800x3d release, you shouldnt be surprised about people that try to haggle or bring up quite stupid arguments to get the price down.
Make a reasonable price and that ting will be gone in no time without any hassle. Make a moronic/greedy price and you have to deal with morons, – its simple.

I honestly dont see the problem here, hes haggling price, whenever i see the same product used i see who can give me the best price.
Just ask him what price he was thinking and go from there, this really is a nothing burger.

I don’t sell PC parts but I’ve sold motorbike parts. Much of the same unfortunately. People asking for discounts on silly shit. I’ll go lower on genuine issues.
I don’t want to know what this guy does to his CPUs if usage is measured in amount of thermal paste.
I am ok with people negotiating even when what they say is stupid but using any emoji in your offer is an instant dealbreaker.
Reminds me of the time some brainlet on ebay said that I should lower the price of the GPU I was selling because it was undervolted to keep Temps down.
