Someone replaced the CPU and then sent it back to amazon. Now you got it… I wouldn’t even install this one, might be broken and damaging your mainboard. At this point with this Amazon frauds I would not buy PC components there anymore…
Immediately report it to Amazon customer service.
As Krassix mentioned, this a common mode of fraud where someone buys a higher end product, swaps it with their old or broken product, seals the package making it look unopened, and sends it back for a refund. Amazon will do a visual inspection, and thinking its new/unopened, puts its back on the shelf to get shipped to the next customer.
By reporting it, this usually helps weed out the scammers, especially when they do it more than once.

A few rules to buy expensive tech at Amazon:
1. try your local tech shop first
2. only take products „sold and shipped from Amazon“
3. always buy 2-3 of the product you want. There will always be 1 item, that has already been opened. Take the untouched and send the „used“ ones back.

ppl need to learn to actually go to the product page and look directly at “shipped by” and “sold by” and if it isn’t “Amazon” then don’t add to cart. it’s easy. don’t fk with 3rd parties, obviously.

Recently I ordered Sennheiser Momentum 4 headphones from Amazon. The parcel came, I took it inside to open it: 2 random fucking books. I tried to chase the driver but he was gone. Reported to amazon, lady of the phone said to send those back as a return, she created return label for me and I sent those back the same day. They said they will refund me no matter what but they want the parcel back to investigate. I bought another Momentum 4 the same evening, they came next day and I opened them in front of the driver (different guy) who was a bit confused as to why, but in the end, this parcel had headphones in it.
I waited 14 days, called them as the parcel seemed like it’s still in transit. They checked again and just decided to refund me. That parcel with books then was showing as “lost in transit” as in, the return parcel got lost.
All very strange, I was asking them on the phone how can this happen but they were unable to say. Got my money back, had to wait 2 weeks for it which is inconvenient though.
This is why I only buy odds and ends things from Amazon. Fans, hardware, thermal paste, cables, etc.

You got scammed hard. Immediately report it to Amazon. Sadly it’s not rare for warehouse workers or sellers to swap out components during or before shipping.
I ordered a 4080 Super from Amazon and I filmed all the unboxing to be safe. From box closed with showing the tranposrter label to the graphic card out of the box.
It was OK but I wanted a proof if it was not the good card.
Someone cheated amazon and RMA a different CPU on purpose.
