lol I’d rather have my used GTX 970 because it was half that cost and still gets driver updates lol.

I have one of those, the last suported driver was September 2023, which is good enough for me.

The RX580 is still supported by AMD and will receive any “critical”security flaw updates. AMD is no longer providing fine tuned drivers for the RX580.
XFX is still providing a one year manufacturer’s warranty.
There’s no issues here.

RX 570’s were 120 bucks new 5 years ago. You’d think the RX 580 would be even cheaper by this point.
Simsalabimson
Well that’s quite a bad stock management.

I bought an RX 570 8GB, XFX, for £125 in January 2020.
Eight months later I turned down an offer of £350 for it.

I bought mine RX580 after 1 year in mining in 2019 for 100$. It is still working on my friends PC and we play Warzone together.

I had one of those with a r5 3600 – very solid combo and ran everything I could through at it (back then)

$120 for a card that old is a bit rough… When I bought my RX580 in 2018~ or something like that it was about $170~ Was a XFX Black Edition card… which kind of sucked as explained below.
Mine had to be constantly underclocked or my secondary monitor would blank off and back on continually while gaming had to drop the clocks 5%~ or so … which always make me angry… should have RMA’d it but was middle of pandemic and had no other video card… by the time I could have RMA’d without massive disruption Warranty had expired.
The underclock situation bothered me… but I could have lived with it, except on a fairly regular basis something would crash the AMD drivers and my manual underclock would be reset, I would forget try to game and have my other monitor blanking on and off… which would make me very angry.
This card currently resides in my wife’s computer where her online causal gaming have not cause the card to cause this issue.
I wouldn’t pay $120 for on of these in 2024. it is what a 7yr old card at this point?….

Mine served me so well during Covid-19

can we talk about the rtx 3050 right next to it?
RunalldayHI
Had a blast modding the bios on those cards.

My first and only graphics card. Bought it in new in 2018 and it has held up really well. Finally starting to not be able to handle some games, switching to Windows 11 has really killed this thing. Don’t know why but I’ve spent hours trying to fix it but every time I find a thread on my issue it leads nowhere, with like 5 other people having the same issue.

Wish I still had my red devil 580. Such a cool looking card. Feel like the newer Red Devils lost a lot of the flair that generation had. Built my cousin a red themed PC and used it in that.

Just don’t get that 3050 next to it
Jhon_doe_smokes
That was my first ever GPU years ago. Still got it and it works great with most titles on the lowest settings.

They’re also still fully supported by the Linux driver (as are a bunch of even older things). At the right price, they’re very useful where you need “a real GPU” on a Linux build and don’t want to pay a premium. I’m not sure $120 is that price, though it’s certainly getting there.

I still have my first rx580 8gb black edition and it still works amazing, it’s retired rn but I think I wanna do a mini build with it 🙂
AzuleStriker
I mean, that’s the card I have sooo.
bedwars_player
Wait what? Those cards are only like 5 years old?
Alr well I’m pissed at amd for the first time in a lot of years.. the 970 in my second pc is still supported…
ComputerMinister
They’re probably just hoping that some non-technical person will buy it
MyDudeX
That’s wild. After Ethereum crashed in 2018 I sold mine on craigslist for the same price. In 2018.

I’m sure there are a few people still playing at 720P

I bought an RX590 for $90 brand new 5 years ago…

Weird that I’m seeing more and more of this GPU lately, having in mind it’s what I upgraded from when I bought a prebuilt around 5-6 ish years ago.

Is that a Ventus next to them? What is this, 2018?
