Wait that is a big deal to folks, I was fucking around trying to get my PC to boot one day and changed that battery out twice just trying to get shit to work….

Seriously, when do you have to change that? Like i have a 15 year old motherboard and no issues ever.

Im actually asking. Dont want it to stop functioning nd fucking something over.

I think I ran my previous PC without a CMOS battery. Since it was always plugged in and I never shut it down I never noticed it until I had a power loss. I remember thinking I should check it, but I just never did. My desktops run continuously from when I build them to when I shut them down for the first/last time.

  6. A lot of people replace their entire computer before the CMOS needs replacing.

I’m not one of those people, I’m poor.
