Elevate just eased past every other team in respawn modes (Hard Point and Control) in their entire record-breaking run this year, in both the CDSI last month and Championships that ended a while ago – with (highly oversimplified) EVERYONE "PLAYING THE OBJECTIVE"! They threw bodies and put so much pressure on the hill that they won several games even with very high negative overall K-D!
They always broke hills with 2 or more players pushing together or pinching + they contested and managed rotations simultaneously majority of the times instead of just abandoning hill for the scrap time entirely + everything they did, from anchoring to flipping spawns, they always tried to keep things close to the hill…
Now, of course:
– We can't expect teamwork from randoms we get in solo-queue to push together etc.,
– It's not everyone's cup of tea to take these things seriously, a lot of them might just wanna log in, shoot at stuff and have fun,
– I don't expect most of the players to know the terms "early rotation", "flipping spawns" etc., or what they mean or how to do it…
BUT –
Just for God's sake STOP thinking of yourself as a "Pro sLaYeR" and think that you were useful just because you got some kills randomly running around and shooting at colours.
More often than not, these wannabe sLaYeRs will have worse K-D than any half-decent Obj player who understands the game – but still, even if you do get the MVP with some 31-18 K-D and < 10s on the hill – please STOP thinking of yourself as some pro who just lost because of bad teammates because YOU are the reason why your team lost! Any day, a 19-15 K-D and >60s on the HP player is monumentally more useful than you, the 31-18 MVP chicken with <10s on the hill.

Q9 is the second best team world wide wdym “slayer”? Its just that Elevate was a lot better than them, strategy of both the team was top notch.
I think you also have to mention that players need to learn how to get obj kills. Without that, you cannot hold obj
Yup. I don’t care about your self designated role, if your team needs you to play the obj get your useless azz on the obj. If we’re doing good then I don’t care how far from the objective you’re farming kills

You’re playing an obj based gamemode. It’s your fuckin job to play obj.
Team Works + OBJ >>>>>> “Slayer”, guess when forming a Clan, i Will just abolish Slayer function from it, after all, OBJ mode is OBJ
Elevate is not a good example for this tho, as their playstyle is unconventional and unique. Very few teams have won games where they were outslayed.
As for the argument itself, it depends. If you have an SKS in Nuketown or a burst CX9 in a cqc map, playing obj is a death wish. The problem with the slayer role is that people think they are doing fine so long as they get kills, which is not the case.
