Horror games that rely on jump scares are just not as good let’s be honest.
What made Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Amnesia, alien isolation and outlast so good was the creepy atmosphere mixed with a few good jump scares.

Since the SH2 reviews seem to be good, I say let them have a crack at Silent Hill 1

Relying on jump scares are for people who suck at writing horror but insist on writing horror.

I support this idea.
I want horror to actually be *horror*, not just endless gorn and jump scares.

If they prove themselves with SH2R they make make whatever they want and I’ll probs buy it

Good decision, developers seem to actually know what they’re doing. Relying on jump scares is cheap and lazy.

I don’t like horror games filled with jump scares, but some jump scares can be good to keep you in your toes.
Specially when they happen organically and not in a completely scripted way, like Resident Evil 2 remake for example. That game rocks.

I would love more atosphere based horror. All that jumpscare stuff just does not do it for me. My favourite horror game still is song of horror.

Good. Jumpscares are cheap and boring.
I always compare them to “jumpscares” you got as kid from another kid: Did you get startled? Yes. Did you feel annoyed and angry afterwards? Also yes.
Jumpscares, “Hyper-marketable mascot horror made to sell plushies for kids” and “PT clones” are the reason why I havent been playing most horror games in decade.

Is not about the jump scares, is about the building of the moment, the tension, the feeling.
They are shredding that game…
Have someone on this treat see the positive bots on the videos of this “remake”

Im totaly for remakes of 1, 3 and 4.

Remaster Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare.
Still one of the most chilling games I have ever ever played.

You mean actual horror? Color me shocked.
