I don’t know if this is reassuring or worrying, lmao
Ok_Style4595
Too bad for him (and probably good for us) because Veilguard looks to be the final nail in BioWare’s coffin.
bigfatfluffers
What’s the point of having the idea for 5 more games when it takes a decade to make each game?
DriftMantis
Is this writer just using AI to generate the narrative and dialog for veilgard?
Vole25
Must not be many thoughts rolling around in his head if that’s the case.
Rumpelminz
If they really ignore most of the decisions you made in the earlier games when starting Veilguard, I don’t believe one word this dude/dette is saying.

If only the quality reflected that enthusiasm

So they could write the base for “5 more games” but couldn’t include a few lines of dialogue or codex entries to cover more choices from the previous games…?
Yeah. Ok, then.

I mean, I get it. If I worked on *Dragon Age*, I’d be daydreaming about Thedas all day too! But FIVE more games in a couple of weeks? That’s some serious confidence, haha. We’ve been waiting for *Dragon Age 4* (*Dreadwolf*) for, what, like forever now? Maybe he should focus on getting one game out before sketching up a whole Netflix-length franchise. 😅

People here have already decided the game is going to be bad without playing it. I’m excited for this game. It sounds like they put a lot of thought into giving their characters life and making it immersive. Really doesn’t bother me that only a few of the games previous decisions carry over. It’s been ten years. At some point, it gets complicated and you have to start over.

so much negativity towards this game, damn

He is either an extremely talented visionary with a passion that will usher in a new age for Dragon Age, or he is vastly overestimating his abilities and is not even a quarter as good as he thinks he is.
We will see.

That’s the kinda nerd I want writing a game.
HeavilyArmoredFish
Awesome, put all of that capability into the next game, not that ill buy it, the ea app doesnt let me play ea games.
GutturalCringe
I believe it 100%. Writing a ‘base’ (I’m guessing outline) for a story isn’t hard. Now whether or not they’re any good is a whole different thing.
Euphoric-Simple75
Pretty basic writer stuff imo. Ask any comic panelist, or someone who simply writes for fun, there’s usually a whole bunch of conceptual launching points. Just says he has an active imagination and is engrossed in the world.
Whether he gets the time to develop those ideas to completion may or may not be in his control…
TheGentleHare
I’m kind of worried and excited about this game, lol. If you’re a longtime Dragon Age fan I don’t need to say any more!

>That’s obviously not *five full games*, but rather the basest seeds of them.
Quoting for people not reading the article. World building and direction are good, especially when writing current stuff to drop foreshadowing and long term payoff story elements. Granted it doesn’t mean its automatically good, but it is still something good to have if done well.
Mikk_UA_
o yes…after 10 years fans waited for the Dreadwolf but received a Veilguard.
5 more game in couple of weeks sound like a threat at this point 🤐
urmyleander
Gameplay I’ve seen looks like it’s not for me, in terms of combat it looks like a step backwards from inquisition.
Also wouldn’t be a huge fan of the art style, I don’t know how to describe it but it looks like cleaning or a pegi13ification of Dragon Ages usually darker style.
Il wait it out for a sale or something, might download the demo if there is one to see how the combat feels.
Halvardr_Stigandr
As Veilguard ignores the lion’s share of actual Dragon Age lore I seriously doubt he could or does.
third_door_down
This game is going to be hot ass, isnt it?
wkavinsky
You don’t need fancy new graphics or UX/UI for each game, so you could have 5 new stories coming out 6 months apart.
You’d make sooo much money if they were any good.

Judging by the “He’s right behind me, isn’t he?”-level of the dialogue in Veilguard, I fully believe him.
