I’m hopeful the crew will at least be better than chaos, i doubt any dialogue will ever touch ultimus or primis crew

Somber music and bittersweet subtitle. Underwear and cock and ball jokes. “charming”

Maybe unpopular opinion but if you play the new game with that way of thinking of “hard to imaginate they will even be half as good” then you are never going to like anything. Yes, we all love the old crew, but we gotta let go some time and stop comparing them to the newer ones.

This was why I fell in love with Zombies in the first place.
At first, it was just dumb fun. A group of stereotypes traveling to horror film locations to kill Zombies with increasing insanity both in terms of personality and weaponry. That’s what Zombies was. Then we got the Moon ending and it became this post-apocalyptic adventure for a short while. Afterwards, it became a dark multiverse odyssey detailing humanity and mortality. Finally, it became a story about breaking the cycle for the new generation to come forth.
I never would’ve become invested in the story if it started off as serious as it ended up becoming. It was so lovable because it was just a bunch of fourth wall-breaking dumbasses coming together to kill Nazi Zombies. Nothing more, nothing less. They were lovable in their ridiculousness, and we even got a story from them. Their counterparts gave us a more serious story that still did well because we understood who they were at their cores while also enjoying for what they experienced.
Ever since BO4’s end, I’ve struggled to give a shit. Why should I care about these characters? I’ve only heard them in voice calls and never really fought alongside them until BO6. I haven’t fought alongside these characters for a decade like I did with Ultimis and Primis. These people are basically strangers in a bland sci-fi Zombies story.
Zombies needs a cast of characters that are either hilarious or cathartic. We need the ridiculous fun of Ultimis or the serious but emotionally-charged Primis to have a strong cast of characters. Dark Aether lacks both. It’s just a cast of bland characters in a sci-fi that aren’t enjoyable to hang around nor emotionally impactful enough to latch onto.
I just feel like Zombies has lacked a sense of direction for more than half a decade now. We need someone to figure out where Zombies goes from here: serious or hilarious. And BO6 is our best bet since BO4.

I love Ultimus and Primus as much as the next guy but this line of thinking is exactly why other crews like Chaos got the shaft. Of course, the blame isn’t entirely on us for that one, technical launch and having two stories in one game was a problem too but many people just straight up wrote them off because they weren’t Aether and that sucks. At least give the new crew a chance, it’s better than the fuckin operators we’ve had in Cold War.
