So I guess “found” is a bit of a stretch. I saw one of those GPU enclosures at a local thrift and they were selling it for $15. I mainly got it for the PSU (until I realized it didn’t have all the cables) but it also came with this stock RX Vega 64. I’m assuming that someone had a big breakup and their ex donated their stuff.
I already have a 2080 Super. Is there anything else I can do with this thing? TV gaming machine?

TV Gaming could work if you’re okay with upscaling from 1080p. It’ll have good Linux support, too if you want to use a SteamOS ajacent distro

Keep it. The Vega 64 did not sell very well and it’s quite an unusual card.
It’s also very well supported in Linux, so things like Proton work very well on it. Build a SteamOS box, or just use its still quite decent OpenCL performance (12.6 TFLOPS FP32, slightly less than a 7700XT) for GPU compute.

Speaking from experience, it’s actually a pretty good (if loud) card. My only complaint is that I had to tweak the fan curve to be MORE aggressive.

If you have some extra cash, building a really cheap plex server around it isn’t a bad idea. AFAIK it has decent encoding performance and for $300 you can probably throw together a cheap AM4 build. Spend a little more on a CPU/ram and you could make a decent ‘living room PC’ for couch gaming too

First thing first, I would get rid of the cooler and put a bigger one,
the beauty of this chip is that you can attach a CPU cooler on it because the VRAM and GPU are on a single die. Also some some heatsinks on the VRM are needed. Some dyi is necessary for attaching it though.
For a long time I cooled my Fury X on a 240mm CPU AIO, kept the fans at a minimum and it nevery reached 70^o C. You could totally do a passive cooled build.

Skimmed a few comments here.
1. It doesn’t look like you have an HTPC. I would not build something around this card. Wait until you actually have a use for a HTPC and then just build the system. But this GPU is neat. Keep it as a back-up in case your or someone you knows has a GPU die on them. This will act as a great backup GPU.
2. This thing is loud/power-hungry. Probably not ideal in living room. A great back-up GPU though.

I have an old vega56 that I flashed with Vega64 bios. I use it in a media PC running Bazzite in my living room. Not super power by today’s standards. But it’s good for emulation and runs most things moderately well.
