Honestly, I LOVED Blood Omen. It was dark and depressing and beautiful and the atmosphere was so gothic and immersive. I wish they would remaster that. Never got into Soul Reaver games, but they obviously have their fans.

Fingers crossed for physical copies! I’m so stoked I get to once again run around slaying vampires, sucking souls, and puzzle solving all while shifting between the astral and primordial planes.

The combat is so terrible in those games tho. I think ppl that haven’t played it are gonna be pretty disappointed unless they have low expectations for that part of the game.

There is a picture on Steam and Xbox showcasing a map for Soul Reaver 1 showing the teleporters and glyphs. As I remember, the map in the original was next to useless and very hard to navigate. The new map is clear and has markers. It looks like they are not above making QoL improvements in this remaster which I commend Crystal Dynamics for. When I saw them get the rights to this franchise 5+ years ago, I had hope and now it’s a reality. I’m stoked!

I have super fond memories of these games, but I don’t know that the combat will age well as expectations have moved on so much.
I’d hoped for a full remake rather than what looks like fairly minor visual upgrades for games that are ~25 years old.
