Midway Games made some of my favorite games growing up. This one was amazing.

That’s awesome! Midway had some real gems back in the day.

  2. Midway didn’t make that game, Epic Games did. Midway published it.

TIL the xbox had it’s own ground up unreal tournament game. I thought they were all ports, but not this one.

This game was so cool man, special memory beating this with my little sister. And the online was sick too. Discovered my mom was paying for it without her knowledge.. rocked Xbox live for 5 years under the radar

I remember a friend deflecting 3 headshot sniper rounds at me once and wanted to throw the game away.

I do have fond memories of this game though.

People should learn the difference between development studios (who actually make games) and publishers… who don’t.

Guess what Midway is in this example 🤣

Can’t believe I’ve never heard of this… Just watched a little YT video of it and it’s amazing gameplay and graphics for the OG Xbox

Edit: My bad folks. Mistake on my part. Midway is the publisher, and epic games is the one responsible for developing it. Nonetheless, games that they published were always fun and unique video games growing up.

That game had the single best capture the flag I’ve experienced in any game.

I can’t remember the name of the other multi-player mode I loved, but it was even better. I always wanna call it Oddball, but that was Halo. Different coloured  balls would spawn on the map and you’d get points for dropping them into a goal, but more points if you dropped them into the same colour goal. I think you’d also get steadily get more powerful attacks but take more damage the longer you held one, and the longer you held one the higher the score when you dropped it in a goal.

Running around as Szalor killing things with claws and shooting around corners with the flak cannon. Good times.

I still have a copy of this game. It’s also available in the Xbox digital store as a backwards-compatible game.

I’ve been trying to beat the challenge mode on this game for YEARS!

Midway was so good in the 90’s and early 2000’s, they had so many absolute hits back then.

We need a new unreal game. Surprised they haven’t tried to go the live service route with an unreal tournament.

Oh baby this was my SHIT!!! I spent over a decade hoping for a sequel or spiritual successor. It took me a while to come to terms with the fact that neither was ever going to happen.

From the character designs, the setting, the gameplay, that _soundtrack_, I loved everything about this bad boy.

It’s sad, I think if it had come out a couple years later on the 360(and maybe dumbed down some of its complexities) it would have been a much bigger hit. It definitely had the foundation of one.

    BROOOOOO!

This game was my shit when I was a kid, I got so good at it that my brothers refused to play against me when I picked my fav character

  19. I went to go buy a digital copy of it and it’s not available!

  20. Hearing that “foreeeeze” as you combo locked someone was satisfying as hell. This game was legendary

I had the first one but rented this one and it blew me away. The idea of a third person Unreal game with a focus on melee combat was pretty cool. I think it even had Raiden. I wish they’d remaster it. As it is, the mainline Unreal Tournament games will probably never see the light of day again.

UC2 was always a stable favorite at the LAN party’s when I was a teenager.

Unreal Championship is still my favorite game to this day. 2 was good but 1 was my jam. I wish they’d remaster or make it playable on series x or just make a new one.
