For a complete noob just learning off user manuals and YouTube, it took about 6 hours tops with some trial and error. I did have a scare where it wouldn't boot at first, but I got it all sorted out fairly quickly by double checking my connections.
Literally feel like the happiest person in the world right now. Everything looks like the dream come true on my Samsung odyssey Neo G8 monitor too.

That looks awesome! It’s time for a bigger desk. I couldn’t imagine having my head turned that far to the right to see the monitor for hours. Or be that close to the monitor, which is bad for the eyes.

So many people are so afraid to try it, because they think it’s too complicated. There are so many resources out there… such as Youtube, that make the process so easy.
Like you, I was a noob and knew just the very basics, but I order all the parts and between Youtube and site like Reddit, where I asked for some help here and there. I had mine built in about 3 hours. A lot of stuff is common sense.
The only fail I had… hit the power button and nothing happened. LMAO! Posted on a site asking what the problem was and within minutes someone asked me I had connected both plugs to my MOBO and there it was… I didn’t realise I needed to also plug in the 4pin. System ran for 10 yrs and ended up selling it to someone local.
