Showing us his transformation from a meatbag to full on cyborg would be amazing.
Take us through his childhood as a lowly New York gangster, time in the army, his deal with Arasaka to turn 'borg, his lil romance with an 18 year old Michiko…
And definitely feature his rivalry with Morgan Blackhand.
I would KILL for this.
Anyone else agree?

Oh yes I totally rock with that idea but I think they went more creative with that one, I suspect some new unfamiliar faces similar to edgerunners story
Not sure how well it’d do. David had something to empathize with. Smasher was apparently born a violent sociopath and only got worse from there.
I disagree.
Part of Smasher’s charm is his mystique. Peel back the curtain and humanize him? It would ruin his character.
netflix don’t listen to op please
Or a Gloria origin story
I’d like a show about Johnny. Show us how he goes from the military to blowing up Arasaka Tower
I’d agree, except I don’t think it’d be able to be told from his POV. Maybe the story is from a Media that stalks him whenever possible to learn the truth behind the legend?
Would be interesting to see that, but I’m sure they probably have some kind of story worked out by now if they’re already confirming its existence.
i dont think we really need backstory shows and movies on every character. Especially not people like Smasher
I’d rather see something with Morgan backhand tbh he’s been underutilized in this new cyberpunk era of media
Hard disagree.
What makes him so scary is his insane power and how little is known about him.
Just a new story with new people in the same city. And give me nothing but more trauma
Remember when Darth Vader was this mysterious, super-powerful force of evil that terrified everyone? We knew pretty soon that he was Luke’s father but nothing else – not who he really was, not how he became this terrifying, evil thing. (If you’re young enough to have been born after the prequel trilogy, ask your parents.)
How much more terrifying did he become when we got his full backstory? Not at all. The more we saw of the whiny brat he used to be, the less fearsome he became.
Don’t do that to Smasher.
What? Why? I’ve never understood why people need backstories to the “bad guys.” They’re bad. I don’t need to know any more than it’s either them or me in this moment, and I choose me and then I will forget about them a minute later.
Does CDPR have the rights to that? Don’t they only have the rights for the newer time line.
smasher already has his lore… give me a new legend to order at Afterlife
The problem is that the whole point of Adam Smasher is that he’s irredeemably inhuman. His physical transhumanist form is just the embodiment of how soulless he is as a person. I don’t know if viewers would be able to watch that level of depravity and evil without feeling a bit overwhelmed or fatigued by it. I think it would be better if Smasher in his earlier form was a side character alongside a fellow Arasaka soldier who does actually have a sympathetic side.
I want Morgan Blackhands story so bad
I disagree. New characters, new arcs please
I highly doubt it but if they do,I wonder if they are going to talk about his brutal one night stands?
