Recently upgraded my pc, never OC prior but started to get curious about the benefits. I used my 1.5 year old 6750xt and I upgraded my chip to 7800x3d. First few days ran fine but when I started to play with OC’ing, I had some stability issues

Specs
X670 Aours elite ax
6750xt
7800x3d
64 Gb ram, 6000 mt, 30 cl

Xmp on, PBO offset -30, and I used adrenaline to undervolt a little and increase frequency and VRAM. Tried to set power limits to max in the PBO section. I have fan control set based off a YouTube tutorial, trying to keep fans quiet most times and ramp up in games. Have afterburner installed but didn’t use. Played with PBO and voltage to try and find my stable settings

Experienced some really bad stuttering in games, one time the driver crashed when I was just idling. Used DDU to uninstall drivers then reinstall. Now I’m running stock settings in adrenaline and PBO -10.

Any tips with finding stability? For now, I want to see if my pc is stable and maybe in a week I’ll bump the PBO to -20. Also, would afterburner be better for OC? My goal is mainly to undervolt and reduce noise while keeping performance the same and hopefully squeezing out a little extra

Edit: Here are the main resources I learned about OC my GPU and CPU

msi afterburner relies on the same api as adrenaline. same way it has to use nvidia’s oc api for nvidia cards.

if any difference existed at all, then rather adrenaline would have access to undocumented features of amd’s overclocking api that are not publicly known (to 3rd party projects)
