I play iracing and bought all DLC for that so I have no room to judge Sims 4 players 🤷🏻‍♂️

I know this might seem like a crazy concept.

You don’t have to buy everything. That’s literally 10 years of dlc. I work with people who literally have thousands of hours in it. How much money have you spent on gaming during past 10 years? Also those prices are in CAD, sims 4 dlc in USD like $300 for all of it on sale usually and again that’s 10 years worth of additions to the game.

It’s sad that The Sims has turned into a DLC farm.

I guess I should be glad it still is being made, unlike most of Maxis’ catalog, but I remember reading interviews with the team that worked on the original game, and seeing how much passion they had. I was worried when EA bought Maxis, and when Will Wright left, and I think those fears were justified.

I hope some people on the team are allowed to be creative and not just shovel more clothes and furniture out the door…

I feel like people make this post here and in other gaming related subs every other day. By now we all know the sims and its dlcs cost a bazillion dollars and thats why most people pirate the game

but people have continuously worked on this for a decade, everytime you pay for a pack, you are paying for the labour for the duration of the time that it took to produce that pack. Why should they work for free?

Last time I checked…. They’re free. Especially with behaviour like this

  7. WiggilyReturns

I feel bad for people who think they need to pay for this.

  8. hazelnut_coffay

that’s about 850 USD for us Freedom Birds

  9. ReleaseMadness21

Always morally correct yadda yadda arrg

  10. MicHaeL_MonStaR

You act like you HAVE to buy ALL of it.

  11. ASDIB995

That’s why I took my boat out for a sail the last time I wanted to play the sims.

  12. MrMoussab

They wouldn’t price them like this if people weren’t buying them I guess

  13. Exciting_Swordfish16

I’m pretty sure hardcore Sims players think they get their moneys worth though.

Been a while since I’ve played a Sims game. Is the intended way to play the Sims with all these enabled, or is it a pick and choose situation Ala skins

  15. Hairless_Human

Can’t hear you over my dlc unlocker

  16. Train simulator be like “That’s cute”

  17. So what do you actually get with the base game? Because if we use $70 as the new standard for game prices then this is around 17 full games worth of DLC

What sucks is that Sims 1 and 2 are still not on Steam and Sims 3, as far as I know, never received discounts during sales for some reason 😔

So rip, no way to enjoy Sims franchise 🫤

  19. Homicidal_Pingu

Just subscribe to EA play and get it all

  20. crisskolodeny

OMG, let someone create an equally competitive game.

  21. Wappening

    Shit like this sucks.

I want to get back into Xenoverse 2 but the DLC for that is still like 200$ or some shit.

  22. ItsYeBoi2016

Even a friend of mine who’s really against piracy decided to pirate these DLCs. I mean, it’s actually a scam, there’s just no debate. I personally like the DLCs though, but it feels like one pack split into 100 parts, individually they’re really low quality. Anyone who seriously spends 1200$ for DLC is a lost cause imo

  23. notsureifxml

i was gonna “yeah well what about annual EA sports titles?” but if you bought every yearly installment of a sport at $60 USD for the last 10 years thats still HALF this!

  24. brentrow

Yeah but from what I have witnessed people our thousands and thousands of hours in sims..

They gotta get that money before that new game can’t think of the name. Basically a better sims with more features is getting ready to release.
