Murphy’s alive as far as we know. In *Firestorm: Shockwave,* the TTRPG Accompaniment that details the true events that occurred during the raid, Murphy winds up making it out of the Tower with Rogue.
You can find encrypted shards with messages from Spider Murphy on them throughout the game. They mostly talk about the moments leading up to or during the DataKrash, though.
Love this shot. Spider meticulously trying to break into Arasaka Tower while Johnny relieved the tension the only non-violent way he knows how.

She’s the quintessential netrunner, and I love all her dialogue in the short time we see her. Definitely wish we could’ve met her, at least in some netrunning capacity if not in the flesh.
She’s probably knocking back some cold ones in cyberspace with Alt and Bartmoss.
spider murphy has a HUGE importance in the lore since she’s basically the one who convinces johnny to take part to the raid and completed the militech virus that bartmoss and alt were creating to destroy the soulkiller.
She’s the one who set alt’s ghost free from the arasaka subnet and eventually soulkilled johnny after his death.
She’s also the one who tracked down the fugitive kei arasaka and once cornered convinced him to suicide with his own created soulkiller.
Unfortunately cdpr just made of her just a random npc assisting johnny.
