Yeah, i’m not very confident in the future of Ubisoft.

I’m so happy that gamers as a whole are rejecting corporate slop finally. No idea why it took so long, but this year especially people have stopped buying these cookie cutter, broken, and soulless games.

Get these product managers out of the games industry once and for all.

Why we looking at 2023 and not 2024? OP, are you being misleading?

  4. SaviorSixtySix

    Wow. Only took them..

    *One, two, three…*

Too many years to figure it out!

  5. Lala95LightingX

My dumbass for a second thought they only lost 494 euros

I stopped buying Ubisoft games when their launcher appeared with FC3. I installed it to play FC3 and then deleted that shit before ever finishing the game.

I hate ~~3rd party~~ launchers. I have not bought anything from EA, Ubi, or Epic in years. Steam or GoG all the way, avoiding games with launchers.

Ubisoft can go bankrupt for all I care. They are already there morally.

Where are investors criticizing the hatred towards them? I’d like to believe that this is the case. But I’d expect them to do something instead that’ll make it worse.

  8. KoxKoliabis

Don’t give them a single cent of your money. Let the greed burn them to the ground.

  9. TheKazz91

Oh no it’s the consequences of their own actions… So anyway.

For the people unaware. The OP is…I don’t want to say lying, but it’s extremely close. Deliberately misleading at the very least. This is presented as if it’s for last year, but it’s not. This is data from Ubisoft’s year ended 2023, that is to say March 2023. The information is 18 months old. It’s so old they’ve already posted information from 2024, which is why it is an option on the page shown.

    That statement is here:

There’s plenty of stuff to criticize Ubisoft for, but at least do it honestly.

I’d like a source for this please. But this is what happens when higher-ups lose all sense of reality. I of course don’t have Ubi’s sheets in front of me to see what exact steps they did or didn’t take to address or not address their problems. But if the share price went down that much over 5 years, someone is *not* doing their job to keep the company operating properly.

It’s become so commonplace to lay off the people who can afford to take that hit the least. I hope investors en masse are finally waking the hell up to how this is not a sustainable business model when things go south.

Sad for the actual developers, the ones with the creativity who just want to make games. But as far as the suits go, the ones pulling the strings forcing MTX and ‘QuAdRuPlE AAAA’ games, fuck ’em.

  15. Vegetable_Word603

Good, fuck those maggots. Hope they go bankrupt.

  16. Novel_Yam_1034

I thought it was a troll when i read that ubisoft lost literally 494 EUR

  17. _Tacoyaki_

I keep seeing these posts removed on gaming subreddits.

I even refuse to buy the 1€ TheCrew2 game now. A couple of years ago I thought the TheDivision2 for 2.70€ sale was a great deal.. well game crashes every hour, meaning that I probably have 90min in that game. Lesson learned = no ubisoft buys even if they are super cheap

  19. alancousteau

It should be studied. How the fuck can you not win with IPs like AC, Tom Clancy’s, now Star Wars too. I’m baffled by this.

  20. ResponsibleRun8387

I love buying Ubisoft games for $5 on steam a few years after they release.

  21. BlurredSight

Their insistence on short term gains by firing devs to clear up operating costs then recycling and churning out the same game every year is backfiring who knew.

  22. ElonTastical

Good. Ubisoft is the tumor of the gaming industry.

  23. Hot_Ad8643

does this affect the jerk mate servers by any chance?

  24. Systemlord_FlaUsh

Hopefully that hits EA as well. But its a good sign that some people seem to finally wake up. The cycle won’t end if you still buy this shit. And the worse thing is people who pay for DLC/premium content.

  25. MrOphicer

Fuck ubi, they did this to them selves and can die in the hole they dug

  28. GoldenBarnie

OP is misleading a little. This is from 22-23 fiscal year that ended in march 2023. Most tech companies lost money recovering and coming out of the pandemic that year. 23-24 made 154million profit
