Simple trick: when the teacher is not looking you remove the side panel, “borrow” the card, and plug the video cables into the integrated graphics.

The university I went to in engineering was using integrated GPU. We have to fix them ourselves from time to time and they don’ even give us thermal paste so it just goes in dry.

In my last year of school shortly before I left the fuckers got 40 PCs with 3070tis, at the height of the shortage mind you. I was about to rob the both computer rooms, but ended up not doing that since they also got better security. And I swear to god no one would’ve noticed because my sister who is 2 years and still went to that school half a year ago told me that they still only use them for word and excel at most. The CPUs were i7 11700K so I could just plug the monitors into the motherboard.

Mum works for a charity. They have an IT guy who volunteers to do all their computers, he takes apart and upgrades all their laptops so they run better etc. She gave me her work laptop to try and fix something for her a while back. I opened up the system information and it has a 10th gen i7, a 2060 and 16gb of ram in it I was like what the fuck. All she uses it for is excel spreadsheets and emails.

Our MM Lab at my school got 64 Gb ram, i7-13700s and a rtx 4080 in each pc. I don’t know how they got the money since its a free university without tuition fee.
