    Looking at whats on my shelf right now Demons Souls (remake), Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Stellar Blade and Neptunia Reverse can’t be played on anything other then a PS5.

    I imagine Stellar Blade and Rebirth will hit PC sooner rather then later but even without those it’s still not “no real exclusive titles”

    And yet I enjoy having it hooked up in my bedroom when I don’t feel like going to the study to play on the big boy.  

    PS5 works well as a side-PC.

    Lot of people seem to be tilted by the news there’s a new console. Is there any reason any of us should care?

    As a general rule the new console generation sets a marker for where your PC specs ought to be for the next few years, but these half-generation iterations don’t make any different to that.

    Just looks like Sony trying to see if they can shake down any of their remaining fans who might have FOMO and seven hundred bucks.

    I assume a lot of people will play GTA6 on the PS5 Pro as that will be the best version for at least a year+

    I don’t really get this perspective. It’s the same console with some new hardware, not a new console altogether. This is like saying “the rtx 3080 doesn’t have any exclusive titles vs the 2080”.

    Also, Sony has been slowly introducing their exclusives to the PC market – horizon, the last of us, god of war, returnal, ghost of tsushima, etc. Laughing at Sony for not having “exclusives” is biting the hand that fed you.

    Isn’t not having exclusive titles a good thing? This way you won’t feel obliged to buy a console just because some games you want to play are in them.

    well, I used to be a Playstation player from 2014 to 2024, bought PS4, PS4 PRO and PS5. The exclusives like Bloodborne and Spider-man made me feel that Playstation was the right choice. Now they have almost no real exclusives. I sold the PS5 and waiting for next gen AMD gpu.

    They can’t attack sales, popularity, graphical capabilities, etc. so they go after…exclusive titles.

    Exclusive titles are a thing of the past. Having them or not is irrelevant.
