No case, no motherboard, no PSU, no extra fans. no keyboard, no mouse. No windows license.
This isnt the flex youre looking for.

Please tell me where I can buy that setup right now, obviously new parts. I’m waiting to Black Friday or new AMD/Nvidia releases but….. oh wait, its impossible to get that (full case) PC for that price.

BeerGogglesFTW
Obviously biased, but even if a new PC couldn’t match the PS5 Pro performance dollar for dollar, it’s such a big chunk a change for a half generation console, I would rather start down the PC path with that money… even if I’m getting inferior graphics at the start. It pays off in the long run.
Buy myself a rock solid AM5 CPU (7700X for ~$220)… a mid tier GPU to keep the price down. And maybe in a couple years sell the GPU to upgrade to something more powerful.
I went into PS4 with their Pro model. The console (like ones before it) essentially became dusty house decor. Do I really want to fire it up to revisit some game? Or do something as simple as installing an old game that have been with my on Steam account for the last 15 years?
I just think the Playstation style of console has lost its appeal. Especially now that I can wait 2 years for their “exclusives” to come to PC. I don’t get it.
However, I will continue to buy Nintendo, because they always put out something new, different and fun, that I can’t get elsewhere.

Idk what kind of cases these people are buying, mine cost 30$ and its fine, fans are dirt cheap, mobos cost some money but just find a good one with the right ports, you dont need the wifi 5 ghz bluetooth pancake and waffle combo maker ones

Found a prebuild with a Ryzen5 7600 and RTX4060 16GB DDR5 with Mouse + Keyboard + Win11 for ~800€
Except a gaming console can’t do everything a PC does. The comparison based on gaming capabilities is biased in favor of consoles. A good PC is more expensive but can do different things that a console can’t and will usually last longer. They’re good for different things.

I see the point you’re trying to make, but you’re missing many highly important components for the PC that will quite heavily increase the price.

800 euro is quite much for a pc
RichardK1234
You can get a good PC for 800 – 900$
5800X – ~200€
B450 board – ~100€
32gb of memory – ~100€
Storage – ~80$ (2.5′ 2TB SSD)
PSU (750W Gold) – ~80$
Case – ~40$
Graphics card – ~200$ (Radeon 6600)
Peripherals and audio – ~100$
Games and media are cheaper or even free, if you know what you’re doing ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
You also save 80$ each year to put towards upgrades, as online play is free on PC. 5 years and you have saved ~300$ towards upgrades or games
The best part is that you can tailor your PC to your needs, exactly how you want it. You are not bound to a singular ecosystem.
PC is a bit more expensive up front, but a lot cheaper in the long run. Also, you can get a lot more use out of it (video/audio editing, web surfing, media and file storage etc.)
It’s not even a contest tbh.

Ps5 pro can do 4k, you can’t and should buy another half of your shitty pc.

I was messing around on partpicker to discuss this with my mates earlier today and I managed to put a good PC together for £1,150 with a 4070S for just the PC (lost the link now) and I could have gone cheaper. This is only £325 more than the PS5 Pro complete edition (stand and disc drive). That £325 will pay for itself with the free online, cheaper games and the fact a PC does way more than a console. And the PC will comfortably outperform the PS5 Pro too.
stepkaj
Even if you spend lot more on PC you still get cheaper games with more versatility then on PS. And no need for subscription for multiplayer. So in the end more powerful PC seems cheaper to me
dobo99x2
Don’t really get that..
Normal 1TB sata ssd, 5600x, 6700xt (or whatever is newer), 16gb 3200mhz ddr4 (you will definitely not need any more), am4 b550m board.
And now go to marketplace or whatever and have yourself a 500€ pc. With 1440p power.
I’m running mine with a 3700x, 6700xt and 16gb ram. I can play pretty much anything on high settings in 1440p.
BigE1263
I matched this with a 5700x and a 6750xt for 750$ usd a monitor (which I’m going to exclude because imma assume you have one if you buy a console).
Throw in a 30$ KB/M and a cheap headset or speaker set and you’re golden

Pretty much buying this just for GTA.

Tbf.. I would rather spend 2k on something that can do more than just play games, isn’t locked to only 1 source to buy games, and can be upgraded to newer technology as time goes on without rebuying the whole thing again.
You’re a little off on the numbers though..

In the UK, you have to pay 920$ for the console alone. So the price is really the same.

You have to put all those components onto a motherboard my guy, and then plug it all into a PSU, and then also cool it.

Also 800EUR to 1000+EUR is *not* a small difference lol.

Except the PC you can use for other things and the hardware will run better in the long run. PS requires PSN subscription and if something goes wrong and needs repair you can just replace the parts yourself.
At the current price it makes no sense to get the “new” PS
