I wish the greater tech community reacted like this when Apple releases the same iPhone year over year.

They added AI, what more do you want?! /s

  3. I worry they’re getting complacent as the console market leader. They just figure people will buy whatever they put out.

Yeah… no disc drive… thats… a little dystopian and not ok imo

  5. I was ready to buy one because my kid has taken over and I don’t get to game anymore. I’ll check out marketplace.

They increase the frame rate and resolution games can be played at.

What the hell more do you really expect on a refresh. That’s like seeing Nvidia release a new GPU and being like “what so it’s only faster?”

Looks to me more like they’re removing elements yet maintaining high pricing lol wack

The price. The price got updated. The price got up

  9. You can now have 4K 60FPS. For double the price of a PS5, you now get two half games at the same time!

I haven’t bought the upgraded version of the last 2 generations and I’m not starting now.

The trend to kill physical medium games continues. Calling it now, no drives on the next gen of consoles.

There is a disc drive…..that’s sold separately D:

I love how this is what this sub is right now. Sony has dropped the ball so hard it’s hilarious. I do understand that they are basically giving a decent gaming PC away, but this is not the way to entice customers to your side. The gaming industry makes its money from game sales, not console sales. Unless the console comes with something AMAZING, you’re shooting yourself in the foot if it’s not accessible to most customers.

Is this thing supposed to be some kind of special edition or something? Doesn’t sound like it from what I’ve read…

No disk no money, totally a dealbreaker for many

By “$700” you mean $1200 because they were all bought and being scalped back to the public. I’ll check back next February. Lmao.

Well technically they upgraded the GPU for better upscaling and Ray Tracing… The CPU is still a bottleneck and shared RAM with the GPU for VRAM but yeah… Expensive af
